With the total crap storm that has happened. I really believe we need a coach with TN ties. I am saying we need to go to Cutcliffe and offer him the job. I know a lot of won’t like this hire but we need a TN guy right now. He can do here what he can’t at Duke.

Then, Let him hire and groom the guy that will take over when he is ready to retire.

We will never get a coach that respects and loves TN the way a TN guy will.

If it’s not Cutt, then who?

Just promote Shoop and move on. No increase in pay. Things can’t get much worse than the debacle today

My prediction is the NEW AD will salvage and find someone good / acceptable

Shoop is done. He has checked out in case you didn't see the game yesterday. The guy needs a green pasture surrounded by white picket fences.

Out of morbid curiosity I just turned on the television and saw the reporting on all of this craziness on ESPN. Sadly, it looks like Greg Schiano is being made out to be a victim here. Of course, UT is being portrayed as unreasonable. Urban Meyer hired Schiano, so he must be ok, right? I guess wanting the face of your program to be a person Without these kinds of allegations swirling around him is unreasonable.

All of this underscores just how absolutely incompetent John Currie has been throughout this entire process. Waiting for too long to announce the firing of Butch Jones was just the beginning. If the reports the Currie was unaware of the allegations in Schiano‘s background are true, it is an indictment on his professionalism and due diligence in the coaching search.

At this point I really agree that we need a Tennessee guy.

But is there really any reason to be optimistic that our athletic department Will get this right?

Tee Martin- who is currently a semi finalist for the Broyles award that goes to the top assistant coach in the country. Has the same resume Kiffin did when we hired him, without the embarrassing NFL stint. 2 years OC, Rose Bowl win. Has been a prized recruiter and position coach who has put multiple WRs in the NFL. And he is 38 years old and this is his destination job. If he is successful, we would be set for the next 15 years at least.

Hire Steve Patterson - He was the AD at Texas and single handedly dismantled a once proud athletic program. Texas football is now a joke; baseball went downhill, basketball is a joke. My point is the AD sets the tone and needs the emotional intelligence to hire good people who can manage themselves.

John Currie has been in the hot seat less than 1 year ....his decision making will determine if he really has a future in Knoxville
