We're going to have to settle regardless. This was a very public, very ugly spectacle that has doubtlessly damaged the perception of Tennessee.

Short term, maybe. Long term, I think it shows an ethical/moral compass is more important to Vols than sitting by watching something wrong and turning a blind eye. Watch OSU fans get on board and public perception will change.

At some point in the near future, Currie is expected to address the media to discuss today's unfoldings, per sources.

I mean, at this point what does Currie say at a press conference. He’s screwed, fire him.

Remember when you guys laughed at me for wanting Cut and Tee as head coach in waiting???

Make it happen now Mr. Fulmer, mr. davis or mr Currie!!!!

If that 20 million dollar buyout is true, I will laugh so ****ing hard at how incompetent this administration is. Taxpayers shouldn't have to fund a dime of that.

I would love so much if Currie's ass is canned in the next 24 hours

You know, that Wolken article really touched a nerve. I sometimes believe that there are elements of our fanbase - as there are in any fanbase - that are delusional and overly negative. But that whole bit about how "nothing is ever good enough" for us?

Uh uh. **** that noise. This fanbase supported Kiffin. They stood by Dooley and gave him every opportunity. They LOUDLY supported Jones, turning out in droves for a frickin spring game. They sat by patiently as Tennessee floundered about aimlessly, supporting the program like no other fanbase has ever supported a program.

Meanwhile, Florida fires a guy who won back-to-back division titles in the middle of his third year. LSU runs off Miles 4 games into the season. USC fires Lane Kiffin on the tarmac.

And it's TENNESSEE FANS who are too demanding? Who won't ever be satisfied?

What a crock.

So here is what we know now:

Gruden was never in play.

Currie didn’t have a master plan. Unless the plan was to deliver the final nail to the coffin.

Mullen was never in the back pocket.

Currie preferred Schiano over Taggart, Sumlin, Campbell, and others.

We have an absolute clown running our AD. No reason to expect any thing from this next hire.

Mullen was likely the first choice. We were in his back pocket.

An F Jon Gruden for trolling us the way he did. Gruden bringing up RockyTop on that Seattle radio show comes to mind. You don't do that to a University you allegedly love. F him.

After talking to some people tonight, there is some movement for Tee Martin and I'm told Tee is positioning himself behind the scenes in the wake of this fiasco today. Also, as some of you have noted, I got confirmation tonight late during the Nation that Peyton was totally on board with this hire and had pushed for former Vols to get behind the hire this afternoon. If Tennessee has trouble getting other sitting HC's to the table then Martin and someone like Kevin Steele do become more of a factor.

DEFCON 1. Circle the wagons, hire Cut, bring in a staff of VFLs, get Fulmer involved and let's fix this thing.

I'm all for it. Outsiders don't get us obviously from reaction of National media. Our local media, players, politicians and fans understand. We need Tennessee flavor hire.

Wolkens mad because he broke the story. Also, idk if it went any further but Wolken was arguing with a fan on twitter and said that he would bet a lot of money that Schiano was still the UT coach. Now he’s wrong. Lol. **** Dan Wolken.

I'd take tee Martin....first head coaching gig, he can recruit the south and now has west coast ties....

Gruden is a hack. Trolled us and probably got a good laugh in on us today. He and Schiano can have lunch and talk about being fired from Tampa.
