For the record, I am 100% against a Schiano hire. I think the AD has really failed to do their due diligence in all this hire.

Having said that...

I think most of this reaction is emotionally rooted in the fact that Schiano is a huge miss from a football standpoint. People are just mad that we are about to hire another crappy coach, so we latch on to whatever we can.

To my knowledge, Mike McQueary claimed to have heard second hand that Schiano witnessed some lude behavior from Sandusky. That is hardly "evidence" and not very damning.

I think it would have been enough to keep me from hiring the guy, but we seem to have a lot of people convinced that Schiano is guilty of something and I believe that is a stretch.

I can agree that the evidence is circumstantial. The problem is how does he answer when other coaches tell these recruits, "You know what he turned a blind eye to don't you?"

Just remember this guy is making $1,000,000. How the f could he have ever thought this was a good idea? The confidence in his decision making skills is forever tarnished. He lost any faith that fans had in him. He had little equity built up and the little he had from the lady VOL decision is gone. He needs to be gone yesterday. The man is incompetent.

Returning the Lady Vols branding was Davenport. Currie was looped in, quickly took credit for it and has milked it for support ever since. Not sure why Davenport was so gracious about him taking ownership-- probably because she was the main reason he was hired and she needed him to be liked.

You and I are on the same page. The issue is not Schiano. The problem was our idiotic lone wolf, no search firm, no rumor squashing, no balloon flying AD thinking a guy who has a losing HC record and any rape stink on him whatsoever would fly.
