Interested to see opinions on this topic and I invite discussion.
For the record, I am 100% against a Schiano hire. I think the AD has really failed to do their due diligence in all this hire.
Having said that...
I think most of this reaction is emotionally rooted in the fact that Schiano is a huge miss from a football standpoint. People are just mad that we are about to hire another crappy coach, so we latch on to whatever we can.
To my knowledge, Mike McQueary claimed to have heard second hand that Schiano witnessed some lude behavior from Sandusky. That is hardly "evidence" and not very damning.
I think it would have been enough to keep me from hiring the guy, but we seem to have a lot of people convinced that Schiano is guilty of something and I believe that is a stretch.
Just remember this guy is making $1,000,000. How the f could he have ever thought this was a good idea? The confidence in his decision making skills is forever tarnished. He lost any faith that fans had in him. He had little equity built up and the little he had from the lady VOL decision is gone. He needs to be gone yesterday. The man is incompetent.
