Incompetence abound in Tennessee Admin

Hart shouldn't have been on the retirement cruise all of last year. His replacement should've been lined up and announced to take over when he publicly announced he was retiring. It was basically an entire year the admin said...whatever..and let the ship float where ever it wanted to go. Can't make any decisions with a retiring AD. Looks like a big fat built in excuse now, doesn't it?

There's also a thing called timing. I can't imagine most ADs wanting to leave in the middle of football season. Plus, I imagine the hiring of the leader of a whole athletic department takes more time than you are implying it does.

Very well said. He essentially announced his own departure date, about 8 months, hung around as a lame duck AD and was given carte blance authority. No one should wonder how we got to the point of being the laughingstock Athletic Department of the SEC and one of the worst, least achieving in the country. And spoiler alert....it’s not changing anytime soon.

1.
3. Let an interm HC dismiss one of the best offensive players on the team.

Guess what - that player is and should be a student first. I take it by your comment that if said player had been a not so good player - you would be fine with the dismissal.

Time to clean house with anyone associated with the program that believes they are bigger and more important than the team.

I'm implying when he decided to retire, they should have found the replacement before he announced it to the general public, like most every other college does it. So you don't have the perceived, and real, lapses in leadership and responsibility.

If I remember correctly, Hart took everyone by surprise when he announced his resignation. Plus, Cheek was resigning, too. So, we had to find Cheek's replacement to hire Hart's replacement. Our situation could but have someone lined up.

It’ll likely feel worse when they tell us who the new victim is. Get ready for the disappointment.

Victim is an appropriate choice of words. There are lots of reasons why this year tanked - coaching is just one of them.

It is going to take a coach with a lot of patience and very thick skin. Everyone surrounding UT football has shown their very ugly side. The only two positives from yesterday was the way TS and JG handled the questions post the game. I want something good for them.

Yeah, it was a whole lot of incompetent bungling for sure.

They are not even getting to the point of talking money......UT is being turned down before they get to that point. If is a given that most is not going to be happy with the new hire. Maybe it will be ALL we can get. :hi:

Oh really? Who is turning them down? Other than Kelly, put some actual facts on the board and not these "I heard from a source..." or "according to (vague website)" rumors either.

Was that infuriating at the time? Yeah, I agree with that.

Now? It's crying over spilled milk. Ancient history. And even if we were talking to Blackburn, he would tell us to let it go at this point.

I ain't crying over anything. Just submitting evidence of our wonderful administrations incompetence. It's where we are, and it's pretty pathetic.

Just another troll, Red. If I had dog in my name on a Georgia site, it doesn't mean I am a fan. It just means I want you to assume it.

Man I so agree. Fans are blind to the fact that UT is not the grounds everyone wants to be at. Terrible and delusional fans

WHEN are you and others going to take off those Orange Colored Glasses. UT is barely a top 25 program. Major hires are NOT coming to UT. You obviously cant pay them enuf. They are not even getting to the point of talking money......UT is being turned down before they get to that point. If is a given that most is not going to be happy with the new hire. Maybe it will be ALL we can get. :hi:[/QUOTE]

Well it is evidence of where we WERE then. And all we can do is hope that those within came to Jesus and repented of their sinful iniquities.

I feel alot of what you are saying, but it seems a little too depressing to assume we will hate our next coach until we at least know his name. And if that wasn't what you were saying, pardon me. It just seemed that was where you were trying to get.

1. Failing head coach - stick with him a season too long or at the very least (2017) 4 weeks to long.
2. D-Line terrible at stopping the run and getting pressure, name DL coach interm HC.
3. Let an interm HC dismiss one of the best offensive players on the team.

Get ready for disappointment for this coaching search.

BTW I welcome the trolls bashing.

You have to understand, the Administration doesn't care about sports. It is about being a liberal elitist School. Do you think our Chancellor cares about sports? She's a Yankee liberal female. She doesn't give a rat's butt about sports. Curry is going to make a safe hire so he can keep his job. Our booster who calls the shots treats our program like it's fantasy football

If you don't mind me asking, why are you wasting your time here? Go play my little pony or farmville or whatever else might be more worth your time.

Or if you want the short version, GFYS.

We've hired two incompetent idiots for AD (Hamilton and Hart) and one for chancellor (Cheek); and then turned around and replaced both incumbents with absolute morons. Incredible.

Both Davenport and Currie need to be fired immediately. There seems to be an absolute intelligence void in an establishment that supposed is all about education.

And the reason that Cheek and Hart were ushered to the door is precisely why our current idiot in charge should understand that anyone not sparkling clean could never be an appropriate choice.

Are you just now figuring out that the Athletic Department is ignorant?
