Obviously none of us can know for sure what Schiano knew while working under Sandusky at Penn State, but it just seems like a huge risk to make him the face of our program. I believe there are various lawsuits still ongoing related to the Penn State scandal. So what if we hire him and then a few months from now additional information comes out in court suggesting he knew what was going on? Now I am not accusing him of anything and he very well could be totally innocent of knowing anything; I just think it’s a very risky move. Plus the guy has the reputation of being very unlikable, and his resume just isn’t that impressive. New Jersey actually has a lot of instate talent, but Rutgers consistently underperforms. Schiano got them to respectability but he did it against Big East competition; I would give him much more credit if he’d had success at Rutgers while they were in the Big 10.

I honestly don’t care one way or the other. We have miserable leadership from the president to the BOT, to the boosters, to the Chancellor. None of them gives two ishes about the program, that much is abundantly clear.....yet they run their new AD out there to announce a $340mm capital campaign to raise money for renovations to the stadium....when the team that plays inside it is horribly neglected and essentially driven into the ground.

It’s no longer worth it to invest any money, time or emotions into this program. They can announce who they want, how they want, when they want, nothing is gonna change....we’ll all be right back here, doing the same thing, talking about which a schlub is gonna be our new coach again 4-5 years from now.

I wish I could argue any of it but all I personally have is gallows humor when it comes to this program anymore.

Said a few weeks ago that Currie and the powers that be care more about the body of the car than they do the motor that drives it when they announced the renovations.

The coaching search should have been the only focus for the AD until they secured someone.

Big, Expensive, Explosive? No interest in any of these candidates. Why be surprised? This university hierarchy is a pathetic joke, but the joke is on the fans.

Campbell might be interesting.

Can anyone say why Campbell would be a good hire? I’ve looked at his past coaching jobs and there is nothing to suggest he is worthy of an SEC coaching job. I don’t get what anyone sees in him. Sounds like Butch Jones.

What is wrong with Shiano? I think he is a great coach remember him when he was at the U during the great years.. Miami D coordinator 99-00.. That was his defense that was great during the 01-02 canes.. Dont sleep on him.. He is a winner.. Randy Shannon took over his defense during the Championship year because he left to be Rutgers coach.
