Latest on Leach from Washington media:
Washington State coach Mike Leach shuts down rumors of Tennessee interest | The Spokesman-Review
Yea, but all coaches hafta say that kinda stuff incase something falls thru at the last stage. I hear that we are down to 3 candidates - Mike Leach, Dan Mullen, and Chris Petersen(as a long, long shot). Currie met with Petersen to "gauge his interest"(shoulda been throwing a 7-8mil offer on the table) 2 days ago, right before he flew to the Vols basketball. So nobody but Currie can tell us what was said. So Petersen may have turned us down 2 days ago - we don't know how that meeting went yet. But then Currie was supposed to meet with Dan Mullen today to discuss the opening. But Miss St already leaked out yesterday that they were willing to give Mullen a raise from the 4.5mil a yr he makes now, and bump it to 6mil a yr, plus raises for his assistants too if he'll stay. And 6mil is alot. Hell, Chip Kelly is only gonna be making 4.66mil a yr at UCLA! So I don't know if Currie will go to 6mil or more for Mullen. We'll know how that meeting went by tomorrow. So that leaves Mike Leach as the most likely candidate. A veteran, winning Head Coach, who has a good record, would be willing to keep certain assistants, great "in game coach", and he let it leak that he would accept the job if offered, and he only makes a measly 2.85mil a yr at WashSt, so Currie could lock him up for 4.5mil or under. So all signs point to Mike Leach. I'd LOVE if it turns out to be Chris Petersen after their meeting a few days ago, but I have more of a gut feeling, plus the reports, all pointing to a deserving and willing Mike Leach. And he's expected to keep Shoop and Charleton Warren on the D staff if hired, which would be perfect. I'd be surprised if the Mike Leach hire isn't announced by the end of the day tomorrow. I'm ok with it. We'll definitely compete to win the SEC East EVERY yr if Leach is in. Soon. The madness finally ends tomorrow I think. And if you're unsure on Leach, then Google his teams stays at Texas Tech and Washington St. And keep Shoop and Warren on D, and we'll have a nice balance. Go Vols! Gettin hyped already, ha

Even he couldnt do anything with this ish show of a program.
Whoever Currie announces tomorrow will meet the same fate as Jones in 4-5 years and well be doing this same exact crap wondering who the next sap is wholl come here to ruin HIS career. RIP Tennessee Vols football....its officially dead.
Well guys and gals. A couple of hours ago, it was announced on ESPNU that AD Currie had flown to Washington this afternoon. Hmmmmm. 'Sounds like either Mike Leach or Chris Peterson's gona' be moving to Knox Vegas. Anybody else hear this? I'm hoping it's Peterson.[/QUOTE]
Ha - everyone knows that Currie LOVES Salmon Sushi. He flies out to Seattle weekly to get him some
