Here is the fact

Very seldom do I agree with a gator - but this the truth. Many of these schools that have fired a coach are going to end up with a coach that is at the same level or not as good as the one they fired.

That's not what I said or meant to say at least.

Think of it like the draft. Everyone does their scouting and research, etc.

But, which players go to the hall of fame or not, no one knows when they are drafted.

It's like that with coaching hires. Some guys pan out. Some guys are unemployed in 3-4 years. Some guys that failed one place, succeed at another and vice versa.

No one knows.

It's an educated guess based on facts at hand.

Trust me half the folks on this board will not like the new HC. The other half will be a mixture of folks that think said coach is going to win the NC year 1 (because we are Tennessee) and those that will support the HC to support the team. And more than likely 3 to 5 years from now - we will go through this again.

Kind of like firing Muschamp to hire Mcelwain....

A good coach may cost millions....but
look at how much a good coach will bring in to the University in year (1)...
If the fans are excited and the donors are excited it could be a tremendous amount of money

Perfect example is Mr Saban himself...look at the contributions to the school since he has been there..

And that my friends is what I think Currie is taking into consideration and I doubt money is a problem

The problem is a big name coach who can bring in contributions from donors and revenues from the football program for the renovations

Mike Leach would be an outstanding hire. The man can coach. He should be our #1 pick. OK, Currier make the offer. He won't be available for long. Make the offer, let's go...

Money is not an issue but getting the university powers that be to agree to turn it loose for a big hire. What good would renovations to a stadium when there are no fans to use them. Let's win again and the money will come

Well unless they have someone else (bigger fish on the hook) then they better hurry and go it now...

We are slipping down that slippery slope to 2nd or 3rd tier
As I said in other threads..I expect the board to starting lighting up like a christmas tree tomorrow evening....
