J Jennings Dismissed from UT

Judging someone without knowing them.. feel sorry for you pal..

Everybody does it...for good and bad. We judge those who we hear donate money to charity. But we judge them in a desireable way. I judge missionary worker s in a positive light...even if I don't know them. I didn't know the dude who shot up that church. You saying I'm wrong for judging him negatively?

JJ sounded like a fool. He can be judged as such. Especially since he's been borderline in his behavior and attitude since he arrived on campus. Some like his fiery attitude. But eventually he comes off as an idiot. And he freely invited the judgement.

Ok, let's use your comparison. If you were fired for gross incompetence, you are saying the same thing should be done to your former employee that went online and said you were @#$&_$@&#_ incompetent?

I would support a business that fired an employee that conducted themselves in this manner. Just like the guy that ranted at the littlw girl at chic fil a, heck yeah.

However, the more likely scenerio here, is that the employee (JJ in this scenerio) has been i trouble before with his business. He was fired and then went on social media to show everyone how much of an idiot he is.

Ok, so you shoot the messenger, regardless of the message. Got it.

But judging a kid without knowing him is what we are talking bout right?

Yeah, i wouldnt want to associate with someone that conducts themselves that way. Hopefully he grows up and realizes how stupid it was, but it may take a while for him with all the adults around him telling him its okay that UT is at fault.

I didn't compare the 2. I gave multiple examples on both sides. YOU implied we should never judge people we don't know. I simply gave examples on how unrealistic that is.

So you never was associated with people before you were an adult that conducted themselves not in the right way? Ok

I work with these kids at another school. That’s why I am of the opinion there’s probably way more to it. I also understand the way they think and behave. You don’t throw them to the curb when they do something stupid. You try to make it a learning opportunity. No one is saying it’s okay. No one. But I am saying kicking him off the team as an interim coach who won’t be employed in five days was garbage and should not have happened.

What do you mean by "these kids?"
We are talking about one kid, that has been in trouble repeatedly. He hasnt been tossed aside, he still has an opportunity to attend a great university, something i would have loved to been able to do. The people in charge decided that his conduct does not allow him the privilege to represent the University of Tennessee on the football field, and i say good on them.

So you say there is probably way more to it and then call the decision garbage? That makes no sense.

Do you guys really want someone representing the university that talks like this? If he was not able to catch a ball he would be out dealing drugs and gang banging.

People judge people all the time. It's human nature. The metrics being used to judge may vary. But when meeting or seeing other people we all make assumptions based off 1st impressions. I was walking along and saw this guy approaching me and I got this feeling he was some sort if criminal. It was summertime in Tn and this guy was wearing a North Carolina hoodie as he got closer I realized it was my brother. I told him he looked like a criminal. He said said I was right.

If you dress like a criminal you probably are a criminal or a least a criminal in training.

And I’m saying, stop assuming you know the story. It is RIDICULOUS that so many take the side of a very talented football player, simply because he can make plays. This coaching staff has been through rough waters. They wouldn’t be stupid enough to just knee-jerk tell JJ bye.

Ok, let's stop being racist.

I have heard much worse come out of the mouths of white business women from New York.

Okay, so i need to start checking with you before i judge someone without knowing them personally, since somehow you were deemed to set the parameters for that?

At what age is iy okay to judge someone by their actions without personally knowing them?

I'm with ya on that. I also feel there are different levels of "judgement". I judge him as immature and entitled. I don't necessarily judge him as a terrible human being. To my knowledge, he has stayed out of legal troubles and is likeable among his teammates. He is not so far gone that he can't be a successful person. I just think he burned the bridge that has him doing it in a Vol uniform.

So you never was associated with people before you were an adult that conducted themselves not in the right way? Ok

Sure and we quickly learned that we cant represent the organization we were associated with (in my case the Marine Corps) without consequenses. Thus my high level of success in the organization.

Can we please stop acting like this video is the sole reason JJ is gone?

Sounds to me like you are saying its okay when you do it, but you dont want people doing it to JJ becuase he is good at football?
