Hey Beav,

Can you speak to if Charlie made a quick flight over to ATL for a little party in Dunwoody after his speech last week? I'm hoping this is one of those black tie celebrations you like to talk about :)

Forged irons are great for short irons and feel but most new players don’t have the patience to learn how to hit forged low irons. Heck most average golfers don’t even carry a 2, 3, or 4 iron anyone. 70 is pretty stout from the back tees at the Honors, I couldn’t do that.

I played Hogan Apex PC's from the time I was 14 thru college. I can't even look at one of those butter knives now, much less hit them.

Ill be happy to host the VN golf outing somewhere...as long as we make it for a good cause.

Hell no on Cherokee....golf course sux.

Holston Hills is the crown jewel of ktown golf wise.

Golf isn't my thing but I can drink like a fish. I'll gladly hang out in the clubhouse....for charity of course 😊

If we're having a tournament its gotta be at the Sevierville River Course or the Augusta of East Tennessee...Lost Creek.

I would tell you what I hit but I am afraid one of you works at GolfSmith and will cross reference any order of that Club to find me.

Nice. I live less than 5 minutes from the HQ. And a DBA, quick, someone print me out a PCI Compliance Officer badge 😁

Awesome pics. I was at the U.S. Open in '05. Watched guys intentionally hit their approach shots on 4 in the pine straw to the right of the green because that was the only place they could pitch the ball onto the green and hold it. Almost the same on #11 (minus pine straw). I watched that hole for over an hour and saw only one player try to hit the approach on the green. Decided my game was not up to that challenge. We did play at the Duke University Golf Club. Thought it was an awesome course.

I am jealous. I have seen several practice rounds at Augusta and worked several amateur and NCAA tournaments but I have never had the chance to go to a US Open

Forged, maybe, but a lot of pros aren't using forged irons anymore (PXG for example). If you haven't hit the P790's, you need to try them. They are the same technology as the PXG's which cost almost twice as much, but they spin the ball better. They look like forged, hit like a cavity back (they aren't), and have a huge sweet spot. The problem I had with the PXG is that the ball rolled too much after landing. The 790's stop quicker. Best looking performance iron on the market and they are awesome. I'm a 7 hdcp. (up from 4)--age catching up with me--putter failing.

Not sure where you heard most pros aren't playing forged. Almost all pros are playing forged on tour. TM feels a little too hard for me. The newest release of forged irons are night and day from their older releases. They're actually starting to put money into R&D and not just marketing and you're seeing a better product. I do like the 790's a lot better than the previous irons they released. Problem for me is only of the club is forged and it's not the face. I like a one piece forging which Mizuno is the only brand who does it now. I'm bagging the 900 tours right now and love them! I do want to hit the new callaway forged. Those things are just gorgeous!
