Sorry, I just can't take Will West's reporting on Gruden seriously.



Jimmy Hyams has assured us consistently on behalf of WNML that all talk of Gruden to UT is bullspit. West is trolling us.

I don't doubt for a microsecond that what Will is reporting isn't 100% true. The question becomes which boosters. I also can't imagine high level boosters are being misled. That would be beyond stupid.

Umm, he said it on live radio. Another poster on here said it was on Will West's Twitter. I haven't looked for my self thought because I heard him say it on the radio.

Josh and Will actually just said "There are Boosters telling media members that Gruden is a done deal". I thought most at the animal were steadfast on it is ridiculous thinking he would come here.

The UTAD will announce the actual event of "The Press Conference" and will more than likely not detail what the Presser is for. National media will be given tid bits of information that it's to announce the new Head Coach at UT. This will run for several hours and the speculation of what said Presser is for. Speculation will grow to a boiling point. Local media ie; Hubbs, will be advised that is it for the announcement of the new head coach and that will leak out to the fan base. Eventually, the actual name will be leaked by the local media. Finally, on the day of, I suspect someone like Finebaum (as much as I hate to admit) will be given credible information that the Presser is to announce the coach, and it is Coach (Insert Name Here) leading up to the formal introduction. It will be a build up of epic proportions and we'll all loose sleep until we see who's standing by Currie at the podium.

We'll know who Tennessee's next coach is before we know there is to be a press conference.

Agree with you 100%. But I want to emphasize that in my previous post that I stated "the AD hire the best possible coach", meaning the best possible coach that will actually take the job.

Basilio was talking to a guy in Chattanooga that I think was a journalist. He saying that he heard John Harbaugh has an interest in Tennessee and thinks Currie met him in Washington last week. Didn’t catch all of interview and will have to listen to podcast on his 1hr near the end. What if Gruden is a smokescreen to John Harbaugh?

Precisely. I believe that the "investigators" here were counted on. They believed that we would pick up the scent and follow it. But believing that we would have gotten where we are without them is foolhardy.

Our usefulness is limited to the extent that we save them work (by guessing correctly).
