My priorities in life are God, family, and tennessee football. Most of us are passionate to the point of obsession. This last 10 years have been agonizing and this is the opportunity to change that. Emotions are running high right now because fans just want to see a Homerun hire to return UT to dominance. That’s why we’re in this thread. When names start getting thrown out of mediocre, underwhelming, and super risky hires in here it makes ppl go insane.

"End" is a relative term pj. Nobody means it literally. If you can/will not see that the UT program is at a major crossroads right now..then you are blind. Gruden doesn't have to be the man, but whoever is hired HAS to be, or the days of the Tennessee Volunteers being a top program are done for good IMO. We are on the precipice, and all the downplaying is not changing that. Currie has to nail this hire.

This is what I’m afraid of, for the lack of better explanations that he is “forced into the job” and doesn’t really want to coach here. This could be a disaster in the long run. I’m just tired of being mediocre at best and not having a team that develops over time and wins games.

To stay on subject a Gruden hire would not be mediocre or underwhelming at all but can be argued it could be more risky than some of the others being discussed.

The UTAD will announce the actual event of "The Press Conference" and will more than likely not detail what the Presser is for. National media will be given tid bits of information that it's to announce the new Head Coach at UT. This will run for several hours and the speculation of what said Presser is for. Speculation will grow to a boiling point. Local media ie; Hubbs, will be advised that is it for the announcement of the new head coach and that will leak out to the fan base. Eventually, the actual name will be leaked by the local media. Finally, on the day of, I suspect someone like Finebaum (as much as I hate to admit) will be given credible information that the Presser is to announce the coach, and it is Coach (Insert Name Here) leading up to the formal introduction. It will be a build up of epic proportions and we'll all loose sleep until we see who's standing by Currie at the podium.
