I believe the story from Larry was that the boosters wanted Butch fired after Vandy last year, but it wasn't feasible cause of the lame duck AD.

He said the only way to win in the SEC was to play physical football and that was solely the head coaches responsibly. He said Kelly wouldn't do that.
