What does it mean when you some of you keep saying:
"if so and so is the hire, I'm out."
Are you saying you're out of being a fan of the Vols? Fan of college football? Out of going to the games? Only gonna go to a couple per year? Just gonna back away and not obsess over every tiny detail? (Probably a good idea either way for all of us).
Just curious. I can't imagine actually "being out" on anything Vol related. My levels of interest kinda fluctuate anyways depending on the season of life I'm in. But I'm never gonna be "out" just for the record.
Honestly even if we suck forever I'll keep watching them. I'll be like the 90 year old Cubs fans that suffered through 100 years of watching a loser. And I will be proud to do it hoping that one day I'll see my Vols win it all again. I'll be miserable and loyal. What else is there? I didn't choose this to be my team. They chose me and represented all that was good in the world when I was a kid. I'll always see them like that. We're in the midst of bad times. Yeah. Welcome to sports. They happen. We dont get to be the best there ever was. It doesn't matter.
If we were terrible for 100 years I would likely have to block out all media types slowly over time. Ive been cutting out more and more every year anyway. I just don't care what they all think. If we were good they would just move the goal posts on us anyways. None of them want anything good for us. I don't need their respect now and I won't need it when we are celebrating our 7th national title sometime in the future. I will hopefully just hug my dad and everybody else around me and cry tears of joy probably and try to soak in that moment as much as possible. That day will be glorious. I hope you guys will stick around here long enough for us all to see it together.
I don't know. Just some random thoughts here on a Sunday. As I'm reading through some of these posts wondering if maybe Gruden is gonna come here to turn us around. Maybe. Maybe not. It's all hope anyways. That's all we've got. Even if we get him, the wins that follow are all maybes too.
But hoping for the best either way. Cause I'll still be here hoping we finally get it right.
Go big orange forever
Nailed it. VQ is the best place on the internet for real solid Vol info. Doesn't get better than Hubbs. Although I sure to miss Fortenberry, he was fantastic at his job. Jesse's not awful but he's a prick and a gator. If Currie was sharing info Hubbs would report it.
The reason I post here is because this is the best sports message board on the web. Thanks, Freak :hi: VQ's board is like all the forums on VN combined into ONE and being ugly...yes, I know that sounds horrible. It IS.
Some of you can knock Hubbs and VQ all you want but at least he's not sharing unconfirmed rumors and being a pathetic homer like some other sites. He's the best in the biz.
Also, stop with the "People pay for that?!?!?!" line. It's $10/mo guys. Most of you spend more than that on Mountain Dew.
No, I'm hoping the boys can handle Vandy and go out on a winning note. Seniors deserve something good. Hoping we won't lose that never have lost 8 status. Excited about this basketball team.
Does anyone think we'll have a new coach within 15 days?

When I say I'm out, I'll just dial back my enthusiasm. Watch them on TV when I can. Saturdays won't revolve around the Vols. Still pull for them.
I'm with you. I know that never going winless in the SEC and never losing 8 games in a season doesn't mean much to some, but it means a lot to the program and to those who've been around it for a while. More than many understand. I hope the team takes it to heart and finds a way to salvage something.
