He may be the 2nd coming but he hasn't even been a HC for 2 full years and had a losing season his first one. Plus he coach's in a non power 5 conference. Plus he's most likely headed to Nebraska. So many unproven as far as coaching options outside of Gruden,Patterson and Jimbo. We could finally get lucky with non HR hires like Georgia or other teams who hired unproven HC's. Odds say we are due to get it right this time. Hell it took Ala 5 tries to get it right with Saban after Stallings so it's not easy replacing legendary and beloved coach's. All I know is Currie has to get this hire right and don't envy his position at all. I guarantee he didn't wanna make a football coaching hire his first year on the job.

Frost would be a good hire in my opinion. I believe he would turn our o-line and defense into the Nebraska and UT lines from the 90s and early 2000s

I didn’t listen to his show but someone told me he said we are looking at an SEC coach not named Mullen. I’m not sure if this person heard that on his show or if he was being interviewed on a different show.

We were sitting and watching the pregame VOL Network Radio Show after the Vol walk when Hyams and Ainge were on. A guy had a "Hire Jon Gruden" sign. Jimmy gave him a thumbs up. I don't know what to make of this, but I thought it was strange because Jimmy is the one that has yelled from the beginning Gruden is not coaching here.

People who read into this statement that AV is specifically referencing a contract as opposed to an announcement are reading a bit more than what AV stated, in my opinion. I think it is a stretch, with much respect to JP, who I saw post that was his opinion, and others who agree with him.

There is certainly nothing in that paragraph that makes me question what I believe to be true regarding the agreement.

Yep, I completely do not buy 10 December. Only thing that happens the weekend prior to that is the Army-Navy game. That has no bearing on Tennessee.

So if you want to wait until the regular season is done, you announce on Monday, 27 Nov.

If you want to wait until after the conference championship games, you announce on Monday, 4 Dec.

If you want to wait until Monday Night Football is finished for the year, you announce on Tuesday, 26 Dec.

If you want to be truly masochistic and wait until the bowls are over (so that all coaches in the mix get to finish with their current teams), you announce on Tuesday, 9 Jan ... but that's dumb, because (a) the 20-22 Dec early signing window means you're cutting your own throat, plus (b) no one ever waits for the bowls before luring coaches away.

Note that none of those = 10 Dec. It's a nonsensical date.

No idea where Doug got that bit of info, but it seems as fake as the third breast in Total Recall.

That was on Pennington this morning, He said a booster told him that a sitting SEC coach, not named Mullen, is on the list. He also said that at least two coaches that could be on the list have said they want no part of it because of the frenzy over Gruden (didn't say they were offered just said don't call me).
