Present! :)

Lots of catch-up, but I think I'm there.

Where's knuck? Haven't seen him since before the Calhouns stuff. Do we need to put him on a milk carton?

Atlanta Vol: guys, I'm super flattered that people are putting me in the same sentence with AV, but please don't. He's a true insider. I am not. About what he said, as usual everyone has their interpretation. Here's my own.

1. Don't track planes. The clearest thing he said. Easy peasy.

2. Implication that the delay in an announcement is due to the employee, not employer. I do NOT take this as evidence of lack of a deal. Lots of reasons for Gruden to want to announce later rather than sooner have been discussed. AV simply says ball is in coach's court.

3. There's a plan A and a plan B. But plans for what? Hiring a coach? Announcing a coach? Taking a dump? I've heard Russians have a plan for that. AV does not clarify what the plans are for. So let's not read into that.

AV's comments make me feel less certain of an announcement today, but as I said yesterday, reasonable people have different opinions on announcing. I thought yesterday (and still do) that an announcement today makes sense, but nobody at UT asked for my opinion. It could be that Currie is in control of when to announce, or it could be Gruden is. I think it would be reasonable to infer from AV's comment that Gruden is the person with the deciding vote on timing of announcement.

I don’t think AV was just talking about the “announcement” of the deal, but the deal itself.

Yep. Said that this morning. More and more will backtrack throughout the day until there isn't any. Always will be "so many moving parts" or hurdles to clear even though it was a "Done deal" 3 days ago

To be clear, I'm not backtracking on what I've said previously about getting Gruden. I believe based on credible evidence that it happened. AV's post doesn't change that. Nothing I've heard or seen since then changes that. Regarding an announcement, it may not be today, but I believe that I made it clear that I was stating my own opinion on that.

I lived in Teton Village for a year...because of THIS!

And ironically, a friend of mine from UT got me a job there. Loooong time ago.

My brother owns a house there and is involved with the Teton Springs development on the other side of the mountain. Was there a couple of years ago. It’s crazy how many threads through out our lives connect so many of us!

I’ve noticed a lot of people are losing interest in the Gruden story, many around me have said either the University or Gruden should have said something by now, and they’re ready to move on. A lot less noise on call in shows about him as well.

This is the million dollar question. He wouldn't buy a house with his son getting ready to graduate unless he was coming to Ktown.

I have to disagree somewhat. They could by another home to be close to his wife's family. My questions is, everyone says the purchase is a fact, yet I have yet to see proof.

What a big day for me. I found out my wife is pregnant with our first child. Couldn’t have received more exciting news!!!

Attempting to catch up and saw this. Had to stop and say congratulations. As a parent of 3 kids myself there is nothing like it. Every day will be an adventure and the love you though you had for the people in your life will be nothing compared to when you meet you child.

Congrats again.

Which would be exactly what the university would want ....

Edit: Currie saves the day...

Recent History of Tennessee Hiring Timing

Lane Kiffin was announced on Monday, December 1st, 2008. *Leaks began on Friday, November 28th, 2008.*

Derek Dooley was announced on Friday, January 15th, 2010. *This was 3 days after Lane Kiffin left for USC.*

Butch Jones was announced on Friday, December 7th, 2012.

I understand the timing is different this year with the early signing period and the number of coaching searches likely to be going on.

But I would expect a Friday announcement after the Vanderbilt game if I had to guess.

Just my opinion.
