Official Gruden Thread 38

If I were being worshipped by this fan base and saw that video with the psychopath stalking Currie, and the plane tracking videos with 50k people watching and my son was a student at said university. I would be in TV last night saying yes or no. One way or the other. God forbid that psycho finds out where Gruden’s son hangs out.

Dood....I had a dream last night that Gruden said no, and we hired Scott Frost. Then all my friends in NE (I used to own a business there), got mad at me and started rumors about me.

But did they start a thread with the rumors?

Official Jake was responsible for Frost Hire 1

Atlanta, I believe I can speak for Volnation when I say that we are extremely thankful this Thanksgiving holiday. Thankful to have you as one of us. For one reason only: your kindness and generosity. Seeing the stories of regular Vol fans going to the game for the first time ever made possible by you. Thank you for reminding us of the true Volunteer spirit.

Happy Thanksgiving, AV.

Happy Thanksgiving, Volnation.

Did you read past Norvell smh

Frost imo is the real deal, Mullen could get things done imo, Kelly would be nice but doubtful, maybe Mulzahn if he tells AU to blow goats?

Frost needs to do more than win at UCF. Any coach half way decent can win at UCF, USF, FIU, FAU or any of the smaller Florida schools with all the talent in Florida. You don't even have to leave Florida for recruiting. Frost is winning, Charlie Strong is winning at USF, Butch Davis is winning at FIU, Kiffin is killing it at FAU but does this makes them all great coaches at a big time SEC program?

Vols fans won't go for 8 win seasons like Mullen does at MSU, Kelly won't recruit and his personality won't jive with people in the South and I doubt Malzahn is going to leave the Barn for the Vols unless fired. I see him going to Arky if anything.

On the flip side, Harbaugh is overpaid. If he doesn’t win the Big10 next year' he will be fired. They have him on the hot seat now. Has one win against top 25 and for the first time all year, had a lead against a team with a winning record, still lost tho.

True, but you can't ignore the massive amount of roster turnover they had this year. This is the definition of a rebuilding season for Michigan.

SEC you seem like a pretty good person and I have seen you on here for a while. Question: If I am not mistaken, you are a dawg and have said we have no chance at getting Gruden. So why are you in the Gruden thread?

I said zero chance? I don’t recall that, there is always a chance. If you want my honest opinion, I think TN can do better than Gruden. Yes, he would bring excitement and be a name but I think it would be more sizzle than steak. He doesn’t know the grind of recruiting and he will have a hard time with the 20 hour rule. He doesn’t do twitter at all yet he will gravel at 17 year olds with social media? I’ve seen a list of his potential staff and I like Jay Graham being on the list, stud recruiter. The HC recruits as much as any coach now tho, see Urban, Saban, or even Smart. JMHO, but I don’t think Gruden will like that part of the job, the most important one.

That said, I think TN should back up the brinks truck for Frost. Tn CAN outbid Nebraska and offer things Nebraska can’t like the SEC and fertile recruiting grounds vs NE, plus the pressure of winning at your Alma mater is alleviated. Frost would win a N.C. at Tn in 4 years and would be at Tn to stay.

I think Fuente would be a homerun as well and would win the SEC.

I’m mixed on Mullen, he has lost at least 6 games in more than half his seasons, but it is at MSU, so who knows.

Bottom line, TN has everything it needs, facilities, support, etc to win and win big imo. It just needs a General.

I think it’s a better job today than in them 90s, why? Recruiting, TN recruiting is taking off and will only get better with the population boom in Nashville. :hi:

Thanks..not until next October..they hire a year out. It relieves a lot of stress knowing when I retire from the military everything will be ok.

A man with a plan. This is great to hear. I wish more could plan ahead like this. Not everything translates over to landing a good job. Congrats to you and your family and thank you for your service and sacrifice.

This is what I was told this morning also

If that's true who else could it be besides Gruden? Wasn't sure if interviews were allowed by College coach's who are still coaching till the season is over. Not sure what the rules or unwritten rules are on that.
