so, reading between the lines, Baldy and Atlanta have both said Gruden has been offered (because we all know who everyone wants) and it's not chump change. It's not going to be about money if he turns us down. So, he hasn't accepted, but I think he hasn't turned us down yet.

Then we move to phase two etc. Sounds like Curry is talking to others too while waiting on Gruden and is doing everything possible to secure the best head coach.

So, am I slanting negative to assume given the new info we have that Gruden has turned us down and we keep coming at him with more money, but they're not sure it's ever going to be enough?

I think we offered Gruden and he may still be thinking about it but he has a deadline and we will move on. Currie is talking to others in case this ultimately falls through.
Based on what AV hinted, if we threw everything but the kitchen sink at Gruden and he turns us down again, he will never coach again because I highly doubt anyone tries to give him more than we have.

Lol it's not that simple. Curry isn't walking around carrying a suitcase full of cash. The boosters have to be willing to pony up for Patterson and they wouldn't pay near as much as they are offering Gruden. I would just hope they offer enough for him to say yes.

Yeah I kind of no that /blur font

So you don't subscribe to the theory that the boosters are sick of losing?

It's Currie btw

I think we re past whether we have enough or are willing to pay him enough.

I think that would have been cleared up pretty quick. Even before Jones was fired.

Are you just trying to argue?

Currie won’t go to the Bahamas IMO. He knows how important his job is right now. Babysitting our sleepy basketball coach on their vacation tourney isn’t of importance right now. The bell cow of “all our ATHLETIC programs” is in need.

Wonder why he wouldn’t? It’s perfectly fine right? Why would he not go? The basketball team must NEED him there right?

Does any of our TEAMS “need” him? He’s the AD. That’s not just football. And now that you won your argument WITH YOURSELF and all is well, we can halt the new AD search. Read that Atlantis joint is swanky as all get out...got phones and ****! :eek:hmy:

Would people care if Currie was flying to Denver for a night?

Same flight time to Denver from Knoxville as it is from Knoxville to Nassau.

I take it as we have offered, he hasn't said no but we have a deadline and he's going to use that time to see what his staff could look like.

Right - and I think we all assumed if you go after Gruden the money has to be there.

So Gruden is still being timid about it and the issues aren't money? Not a good sign.

I think Gruden has turned us down and we've moved on.

I'm positive that Currie will kick the tires with Fisher, Patterson, Frost, Petersen, Gundy, and Mullen. Nothing to lose.

No. Because we would assume it’s for business. Flying to the Bahamas isn’t important right now. Currie pretty much said so himself.

My guess is if it gets to that point Gruden has said no and Currie can work on scheduling interviews for the next weekend from the Bahamas.

I think he would take the right NFL job for far less than what we're offering him. JMO.
