The grenade clip has been released and is ready to be thrown. I do not take credit for the the things we have learned. One of your other volnation people get full credit. It's all together
Preach on my brother. Its time to pay up and become TN again. My 12 year old son has no idea about TN because we have **** the bed for his entire life as a football program. Those days are hopefully over soon. This is not for the faint of heart, but like anything in life, if you want something, you have to go get it. If UT wants to be great, they have to clean up the administrative hurdles, get a white whale and be willing to pay for said product.
As a fan base, we have given more than adequate funds and support for this to happen. To carry this even further, we have, as a collective whole, one of the more well-endowed booster bases in the country. I haven't crunched the net worth down to the penny (assets included) of our BIG BRASS, but we have 25B+ in backing power (and no, for the word parsers, this is not allocable funds, just worth).
As far as I'm concerned, if we have fans who are content with settling for anything less than a Patterson/Peterson hire, then go support someone else. I have experienced greatness, and that's what I expect. This is the University of Tennessee, not Vandy, UK, Ole Miss, or even UGA. The excuses stop here, and I challenge all of us to stick it to the UTAD if this gets fugged - they deserve reprimand for reprehensible decisions.
Go Vols!
Some of y'all are too kind.
Before the Gruden threads, i was an absolute nobody on this board. Got made fun of a few times, talked down to, treated like i was an imbecile. I only had like 650 posts. Almost never posted because of it. Just lurked.
Here in the Gruden threads, i have found my tribe, my people, my home. Like-minded people who have accepted me for who I am. Thank you all for taking me in.
This has only happened to me 2 other times in my life.
1) In high school, i didn't fit with the preps (too poor), the jocks (wasn't too good a ball player tho i tried), the nerds (too dumb) or any other crowd. of all groups, the headbangers took me in. funny thing, the only common denominator there was the music. i've never drank or done any drugs or partied. but they let me hang with them. they were cool.
2) On January 5th, 1992, when i got saved by the good grace of God, the church accepted me into their family as well. Course, that didn't go over well with the headbangers, but whatareyagonnado?
Anyway, I like it here, and hope that if/when Gruden comes to UT, Freak does what he mentioned, and gives us our own dedicated thread/room to talk all things Gruden/UT.
Jon David Gruden ... come on down!
