Official Gruden Thread 38

I've been contacted, and informed that if I am discovered within 100 feet of the players, ill be arrested for corruption of a minor.

I guess you had better get your season tickets just beneath the Jumbotron (Advice from Counsel).......

It will anyway.

Some of y'all are too kind.

Before the Gruden threads, i was an absolute nobody on this board. Got made fun of a few times, talked down to, treated like i was an imbecile. I only had like 650 posts. Almost never posted because of it. Just lurked.

Here in the Gruden threads, i have found my tribe, my people, my home. Like-minded people who have accepted me for who I am. Thank you all for taking me in.

This has only happened to me 2 other times in my life.
1) In high school, i didn't fit with the preps (too poor), the jocks (wasn't too good a ball player tho i tried), the nerds (too dumb) or any other crowd. of all groups, the headbangers took me in. funny thing, the only common denominator there was the music. i've never drank or done any drugs or partied. but they let me hang with them. they were cool.
2) On January 5th, 1992, when i got saved by the good grace of God, the church accepted me into their family as well. Course, that didn't go over well with the headbangers, but whatareyagonnado?

Anyway, I like it here, and hope that if/when Gruden comes to UT, Freak does what he mentioned, and gives us our own dedicated thread/room to talk all things Gruden/UT.

Jon David Gruden ... come on down!

Starkville. You should go sometime.

Holy S#%t that makes 3! So Mississippi State is harder to recruit to than Vanderbilt??? I guess I missed the part about the academic standards down there in Starkville. That’s just talking academics........not mentioning Vandy is the traditional bottom dweller of the conference. Wow.

They must be, they have been circling in a plane for days trying to avoid Jon Reed! :dance2:

They should go ahead and land. The dummy will either a-make a food run or b- lose them after they land.

C'mon, Jon!

I absolutely do not understand the appeal of Tee. He isn’t that well respected or liked by the USE Fans, so his only value would be recruiting. Quite honestly I feel we can find someone else just as effective, especially if they get the recruiting power of Gruden’s name.

The good thing about it is he would be running Grudens offense.

Is it true that Gruden calls most of his own plays anyway?

The *Official Non Gruden Thread* is having a hard time getting off the ground!:)

There are 3 or 4 trolls this thread hanging out in it with a drive by from an outsider every now and then.

I don't think we will see an official non Gruden thread 2. Lol

sometimes a poster will invade the thread being a rude antagonistic (insert word) and i use a chris jericho gif telling them they just made the list as i put them on ignore.

it's meaningless, as after we hire a coach, i'm gonna unlist everybody and start over. i've got approximately 110 people on said list. it just makes it easier to navigate these threads if i don't have to wade thru so much junk.

i've tried to slow down using the gif. But i still have it if anybody gets out of hand ... just sayin'.

That'd be a Grude antagonist.

Clay is right... You dont dump a bunch of negative stories on a guy your not hiring... Why risk trashing a relationship with Gruden if you dont have to?

The CBS story? Hardly negative. Just realistic imo

Yup, and depending on who they hire will determine how I spend a lot of my Saturdays next year.

Hey, I'm on my phone and can't follow a quote back to its original posting. Just curious, did you post in the "non Gruden" thread?

What if......
Just got to thinking . The weather is supposed to be bad tonight. What if there is a weather delay? Let’s say the Vols are down 21-6 at the start of the 3rd and then we have a 2 hour weather delay because of lightning. So at the end of the delay guess who leads the Vols back onto the field..... none other than JON GRUDEN!!! I want y’alls final score predictions when this happens ??

Agree with you. But I do have a question. Are his endorsements associated with him being on MNF or are they linked to his likeness. If associated with him being on MNF, surely that takes time, if associated with solely Gruden (not being an attorney), I would think those would be easier to get out of. Maybe an attorney on this thread could help answer the question.

Not if those endorsements are explicitly linked to his MNF contract, whereby, his MNF terms supersede any and all other endorsements/obligations. Not saying his contract is written in this way, and I think it would certainly be unusual, but it would make dissolving other "obligations" seamless, IMO.

Tee is the most underrated UT QB in history. I'd be happy with Tee as an OC!
