Recruits as whole don’t keep up with current nfl or football in general. It’s really sad how few of the probably even ever watched manning play or care to know about him.

Can't we just showcase our players playing in a way we can all grasp after waiting months for football? Why score things so weird? It's fine if you want to track that for your own benefit and all that. But his wacky ass scores had to be on the ESPN broadcast? The announcers after five years could never truly explain it. I still don't know what we were watching. It was an embarrassment.

Another example of Butch trying to reinvent a perfectly good wheel.... In a way that never helped us win more games.

I think the way Butch did the spring games was fine. By splitting offense vs defense the coaches can get all the matchups they want. 1s on 1s, 2s on 2s. It let's you switch single positions and still go good on good which can be helpful for positional battles.

Peyton has the advantage of being one of the best NFL QBs ever who also won a Super Bowl recently. Tebow is just some dude on SEC Nation.

Seems fake to me. The fact he felt the need to dispel that Gruden would not coach the remainder of the season shows a level of ignorance about how these things work. There is no question he wouldn’t coach. That’s like calling water wet.

Here’s where I think this is all bs. I get wanting some UT flavor but pretty much the only coaches contacted have been former Vols and to me none of them are top tier coaches. At least the ones tossed out are not and definitely not worth the big salary asks we keep hearing he has.

Don’t you think Gruden could pull better coaches than the ones mentioned? Seriously take off the Gruden glasses and think that one through.

Tee is an ok recruiter and average playcaller.
Randy Sanders, we couldn’t get him out of her fast enough before..
Dale Jones may be a good coach but recruiter?
Kevin Steele has been pretty bad everywhere he has been but can recruit or could at one time.
Jay Graham would be a home run but I would rather keep CRG.

Slightly disagree. Virtually every kid on my 10U football team know very well who Peyton is, along with Brady, russel Wilson, Aaron Rodgers, and other big name qbs, along with NFL stars.
Instagram and twitter is a huge role in that.

If Gruden tries to use the UT job as leverage for his MNF gig, they'll be happy to escort him out the door. They're bleeding money and they know no one tunes in to listen to Gruden call games.

It was easy to pay him a big salary when they were raking in money hand over fist. That's all slowing down now.

Also, he's the most important on-air personality for them right now (debatable statement) because his segments are cheap and easy to produce. They will replace him quickly with someone cheaper.

I’m mostly talking about a kid from California, Florida etc. why would they have a vast appreciation for Peyton or al Wilson etc. I’m not just picking on Vols. I doubt a lot of Stanford players really know about elway or Miami players know about vinny T

He edited now to say that he will help in game prep but not coach. Second time he has backtracked on a statement. I’m still full gruden but I don’t beleive this pill guy.

Funny how they haven’t yet? How many new sports enter, sideline anchors, debate shows etc have they changed or added
