The narrative does make sense. I am 💯% all in. My only question that has me going with babyvol's timeline instead of chattvol is the recruiting factor. If all the recruits were held off until Vandy weekend how can we make a pitch without a coach in place? If they wait til season is over, do they bring him Gruden in after the game ends and then break news late Saturday night/early Sunday? Seems they would want to break it at a time of day when they have a captive audience. Late Saturday after a potential loss or early Sunday when most are in bed or at church doesn't seem to fit. Recruits would be blowing up social media.
That makes me think it happens after MNF on Tuesday like babyvol said. We will more than likely lose against LSU and be eliminated from a bowl. No reason to worry about taking anything from players at that point. Why not give the returning players a reason to audition for their new coach against Vandy?
Just my 2¢
I think Gruden, as sensitive as he is about fired coaches, would insist waiting till the end of the season for the sake of the old staff. As far as having a captive audience, you had over 8k fans watching a cell phone periscope broadcast through a chain link fence in the middle of a work day...twice. I don't think a captive audience will be a problem. And if I were a new AD that was not a popular choice to begin with...I would not be letting this situation fester out of control. Currie don't look worried & he's not scrambling to interview anybody else yet.
