I do have a question for you guys. Let's say it is Grude and at 10.3 mil to start. With a ceiling that high and more than Saban or right at it with all he has done, where do you go from there? Considering future raises for assistants and Grude if things go like we hope, what is the ceiling for a college football coach? Maybe there isn't one? Is anyone worth 12 mil, 13 mil, 15mil? Just wondering out loud.

Sorry guys this is Dale’s last post on Facebook

UT hiring Jon Gruden virtually never happens either. Nothing about this will be normal.

It only makes sense if you believe the insider, and sorry that I don’t remember who it was, that stated boosters got together after the Georgia game and put together a 10 year plan. That plan supposedly was to bring some former Vols as assistant coaches so hopefully we’d have a coach in waiting on staff for whenever Gruden leaves.

Guys I don't post a whole lot on here but my divorce was finalized today and I just wanted to send out a BIG THANK YOU. You guys/gals and this thread have kept me in as positive mood as I could be in with all the crap I've been dealing with. GRUDE ON!!!

The Dale Jones FB post is all part of what’s going down.

It just hit me...Baldy said sit back and enjoy the show. He’s not the first insider who has said that. Beaver said it, and there have been other insiders on VN, as well as on TOSs, who said it. I think the show is what we are seeing...all the things that happened Wednesday and yesterday and all the smoke that accompanied it. The negative info campaign today, as well as the article from CBS. Now, an assistant coach, rumored to be a part of Gruden’s staff, makes a FB post with reference to a particular number, that is rumored to be Gruden’s potential yearly salary. There is going to be more to come to keep everyone entertained and watching the show. The last thing will be the climatic ending...Jon Gruden at the podium being announced as the next HC at The University of Tennessee.

Got to admit this dale jones post is very interesting. Even is the 10.3 isn't significant him talking about his Vols is very odd for a sitting coach at another school. I would be pissed if I was a coach or player at appy.

You're wrong. But nonetheless, when has a new head coach been announced while the football season is ongoing? Most new hires are typically sitting coaches so they never bail on their old team before the regular season ends. Similarly even guys out of the game like Urban Meyer weren't announced as going to Ohio State until the season officially ended.

The earliest Gruden was ever going to be announced was Nov. 26th (the Sunday after the Vandy game).

How can you definitively say that I am wrong when you can't even think of one time it has happened? If it's never happened, you don't know the effect of it. Bring better arguments Dobbs.

I get what you're saying and I don't disagree with waiting as a whole. fyi.

A staff full of UT guys buys a lot of goodwill for any early bumps. Plus it would make it mean a lot more to each of them. Fulmer loves this program deeper than Saban will ever love Bama.

This is precisely why fans should never trash the man. Johnny and Phil have their differences and their flaws but both love this program every bit as much as we do.

If I know I'm not getting him I'm finding the softest, quickest landing I can build that gives the perception that I was all in and it just didn't work for him.

It's not gonna be taken well by all but I'm not letting the volcano flow anymore if it's over.

yep. there's plan A...and then there's plan a.:eek:lol:

A life long friend of mine that is a pilot and has a pilot buddy that used to fly for UT was telling him that trying to track UT flights were pointless. He said "They block the tail numbers and use a dot-com tail number and can't be tracked on flightaware". I admittedly don't know enough about this stuff but figured someone on here might. Just thought I would pass it a long.

You can still track via fltplan.com for the most part.

Gruden is in a different category IMO. He is worth 2 million just in advertising and PR. Worth another 2-3 million as spokesperson and fundraiser and 4-6 as a coach. Other options definitely have a lower value.

They know how much he loves Tennessee. Hell he gave them a version of the "I will give my all" ritual that we do. The Maxims have been integrated into App State -- that's why they were able to climb up from FCS without the hitches that most teams have.

No offense to him but that’s not really going out on a limb. It’s like saying Fox News will break a trump story.

I’m pretty sure as much as ESPN has hated on our program over the years, we would choose a different media outlet to break the story.

I’m skeptical of Beaver, especially with his immature twitter game. However, if you would have written down everything he said about what would happen throughout this process, you would see that he hasn’t been wrong about anything, as far as I can remember. It’s quite interesting.

If this is true, then the athletic department has killed the football program. We don't need coaches that get off putting on a show, we need coaches to come in and develop players and the program.
