I don’t know, maybe I’m just a hopeless Gruden lover, but still, all the smoke. Then the players today even tweeting things. Guess the dude was wrong about there being a presser today. Might could still do it Sunday. But looking more and more like what theyve been saying that nothing will be announced until after Vandy. Can the roller coaster ride last that long?

I think Gruden is helping UT nab a top coach. Think it about if he says no the love affair UT has with Gruden will be over. Only way to save face is to announce he was instrumental in hiring the new coach . Good news is it will be a homerun hire.

Just a theory. Carry on.

Ether meet flame IMO. Given the current climate I'm not sure Currie wants that perception. Even if you have a good hire on the hook and make it.

I would agree that if Currie knows he can't make it happen that he needs to make a clean break asap and put some time between that and whoever he does roll out. Even if he pulls off a good hire.

Leaks what exactly? That there are concerns that a guy who has never coached college can recruit and that they have some concerns about what kind of coach he is after 9 years in mothballs? Those are less leaks and more facts of hiring Jon Gruden. If he does the least bit of introspection he's already asked himself both questions.
