I wonder actually if this CBS article is a dare to Gruden by us. A little "we're not sure how much of a winner you really are, so come prove us wrong" attitude.

Could work or totally backfire. If he walks away, then that's the line, "didn't want anyway."

Not my point but just calling someone a lair cause you THINK he says something doesn't make him a lair. I just don't call people things if I don't actually know if they are or not.

I could be wrong, but I think the source of that article was Jimmy Sexton.

Has Jon's agent said anything? When he tells us we are la la land idiots, then I'll pack it in. I'm sure after the CBS article, it's coming if he's not with us.

I do disagree there. You go down there to get what you want. I agree that there has to be a high probability for success, but you go down there to make sure that there isn’t a no. This is totally a smokescreen, but for what? Is it the admin saying “we didn’t want him anyway” or is this a ploy by the Gruden camp to make sure they get the last piece of the deal they want?

Think about it. With what we know about this fan base, who does this article put pressure on to act?

Hot (and obvious) take. 1 of 3 things has happened.

1. Gruden has said yes and it's being covered up for the right time to announce, and AV is gonna keep silent as he said he would.

2. Gruden has said no, and AV has just not got confirmation yet (for some reason I actually find this least likely)

3. Gruden is still mulling it over, thus AV has nothing to say at the moment

Yup. He explicitly said Wednesday would be the pivotal day and that he wasn't gonna say anything until it was over. No news from him is good news.

And remember Wednesday night was the height of positivity with multiple people like LWS and Hubbs saying they heard it was done deal and he said yes.

Obviously they've all LWS and Hubbs have walked that back now. But that should be expected if Wednesday was the pivotal day and he actually said yes. A misinformation campaign was going to follow that if he said yes. And right now it looks like we're in the middle of a 9 day campaign to quiet the noise. Very similar to what Ohio State and Urban Meyer did in 2011 when news leaked he signed to be the new head coach at Ohio State 10 days before the end of the season. Ohio State and Urban Meyer denied those reports then introduced as the new head shortly after the season ended.

Expect the same at Tennessee. I think we'll know on 11/26 what the truth is. Right now everything is a lie.

So Sexton talks to Dodd and he puts this article out. Coming from national media, Gruden sees it, says what the hell guys and backs away, forcing TN to have to choose from Sextons pool?

What is your point? I didn't say "Jimmy Sexton is a liar!!". Not sure why you are so triggered.

Takes a pretty naive person to think sports agents don't throw some untruths out there to benefit their clients.
