I think 2-3 candidates are being vetted and given figures, phone interviews, meetings with agents and such. Currie will have his guy ready to move quickly with verbals already agreed upon on as soon as their last game is over. They can be announced next Sunday/Monday after a quick face to face

That is if Gruden is out

It basically comes down to timing. The earliest a new hire is gonna be announced is 11/26. That's 9 days from today. There is no way the hype from Wednesday and Thursday could carry on for another 9 days. It would drown everything else out. Including the games.

So out of respect for the kids and coaches still preparing to win football games, you have to drown out the noise. That is why a misinformation campaign was so predictable.

We just have fickle fan base that folds at the first sign of negativity. Hence the overreaction the last 10-12 hours.

Sticking with 11/28 Norvell. Hope it doesn’t get to him, but I’d rather be pleasantly surprised than horrified.

You can call it fickle, I call it skeptical.

New coach will be announced 11/27. Haven't quite decided yet who it will be, I have changed my mind a few times...was thinking Mullen, then Taggart now kinda thinking Kacy Rodgers.

Who knows, maybe he was given some bad info, but it sounds like it's done with Gruden.

Why would they wait that long to start the interviews? Doesn't make sense to me.

I'm out of the house, If my dad is wrong then he is wrong.

I'm a die hard vols fan. not here trying to spew fake news. not trying to play with people emotions. I added a full disclosure when I first posted.

If nothing else I just added another notch in the belt that is the crazy fun exciting coach search of 2017.

Fair point. Maybe we’d wait for that. Going to want to do it quick, though. Currie has plenty of time to do his diligence. Anybody we would actually offer should already know that the offer might be coming and should be thinking about it. It wouldn’t surprise me if we got down the list pretty fast (if people were saying no).

The thing is he is not even giving out misinformation right now. He said that he thinks JAV is legit, but he also said we have not moved on from Gruden, unless I misread the post from Ron this morning.
