Agree. Nobody is having fun like we are right now. NOBODY. You think Bama fans are? Nope. They're worried about if/when they will lose. We've already got national championships locked up, true or not.

I agree if the hire is currently coaching a team. Why would they wait if Gruden has accepted? Sunday or bust! He loves the attention. Only drives his price tag up for the NFL or other networks.

This is great, but I’m pretty sure if you started out saying “I’m a total troll making this up because my parents didn’t give me enough attention as a child” as your opening line and then followed through with the rest of it the response would be “but why would he say that if it were true? Nobody would admit that. He must know something. The rest of his post must be true.”

Nah. Even if you hire a coach you can’t start filling staff positions til later. UT isn’t gonna disrespect the current team and staff like that. We definitely won’t be the first team to do something like that even if it starts happening at some point.

That early signing period is gonna be a mess. I think a ton of kids will wait. We still have like 18 commits right now. That’s a lot. We are in good shape there. A day or two won’t make a big difference.

Fair point. I still think the early signing period justifies us signing a coach before the season is over though. JMO

Plus the recruiting visits being moved to the Vandy weekend. The recruiting will continue just fine.

I don't even remember talking about Butch as a possibility back then. Maybe we were mistaking him for Butch Davis. I don't know.

I can't even remember who our second choice was. Charlie Strong was talked about, but seems like late in the game. I remember Fedora.. :-/

I guess this time it's Gruden, then everyone is saying Mullen? Some talk of Patterson?
