This makes the most sense out of anything. Currie proved by keeping Butch is long as he did, that he wanted to give the seniors every opportunity to make a bowl game.

I think the reason some of the players have tweeted things that make it sound like they know someone special is coming is because Currie has told them that he has already hired their next coach, and that they will not be disappointed (I thought he may have told them it was Gruden, but agree with others now that he wouldn’t leak that to them...they probably suspect it’s Gruden). He probably used it as a rallying cry to get them jacked up to hopefully win this week and next to make a bowl.

Now I could see Currie saying the next coach is hired...providing basically an open tryout for the team the next two weeks to prove their worth on film.

Yeah, I'm not saying you hire him just for one QB. But say he's hired, hires a couple of Clemson assistants and gets Lawrence.
