lol, who is orange pill? The orangeinclad person I think is FOS, because we know Gruden was in Knoxville this past week.

I’m guessing Jimmy got the bit of news the AD wanted to get out if Gruden didn’t happen...... to paint the scene that we never even went after him.

I know Tennessee tried very hard to convince him. But did he listen out of respect or because he really thought about it? That's what we don't know.

I think the whole offer was overblown and he never really was an option. All the insiders are nothing but smoke blowers who like attention. Sorry guys, at least now we can move on to real candidates, I can almost guarantee Currie did a while ago.

I'm hardly the first to say this but I've been asked about it a ton. Jon Gruden will not be the HC at UT. Definitive no and we are moving on. There were always hurdles to hire him. We tried to go over, under and around those hurdles but it is not going to happen in the end. This is NOT a failure by UT administration. It just comes down to a guy that does not want to coach college football. There is no reason to be angry, downtrodden or depressed about this. There are very good football coaches who are interested in coming here. We need to celebrate that truth and get ready for the next opportunity to be a great football program again. I would also caution listening to anyone who claims AD sources in all of this. Any talk is coming from boosters and other coaches. Currie isn't leaking anything. That means that info is going to be hard to come by, even for the very best of journalists

He doesn't want to coach college football so I guess he was calling Dale Jones to gauge interest because he was bored one day.

It's gonna be ok. Paying someone 10 mil/yr who hasn't coached in a while is probably not the best idea. Let's hope we can snag one of Mullen, Peterson, Patterson, or Frost

At this point, I really don't care if it is Gruden, Patterson, Mullen, Frost, Taggart, etc. As long as he's a coach and not a wanna be. But I also think the possibility of a misinformation campaign is perfectly valid. I am entertained.

All the "insiders" who came out of the woodworks who said we had Gruden in the bag, trolled. I consider what Gruden said in that interview yesterday morning after asking those guys not to mention anything about the coaching search trolling.
