Well, it does not sound terrific reading everything this morning. I have to believe that Currie's second choice will still be a very good hire. I am going to try and focus on the game this weekend. I have no doubt that I will convince myself to get behind whomever is brought out to the podium. Except maybe if it's Kiffin or Petrino.

Boise + Washington has been Top notch

Miss State... 4-5 in their division

Just showing the difference of what a true Top coach accomplishes with less.

I don’t think anyone will argue against Peterson being one of the best. However, trying to frame the conversation as him pulling Washington out of obscurity is disingenuous at worst and ignorant at best. There’s a reason Washington was a school Peterson had his eye on for so long.

Washington has as many national championships since 1990 as MSU has conference championships in school history. They have as many bowl appearances in the past 30 years as MSU has had in school history.

Furthermore, they’re in a conference that has had much more parity over the past few seasons than the SEC. The PAC 12 has had a bit of a power vacuum since Mariota and Luck have moved on. The PAC 12 hasn’t had a Clemson/OSU/Bama type team dominating the league in since Mariota graduated and moved on and Oregon fell off.

Admittedly, Peterson has done a great job of getting Washington close to being that team.

Get Mullen the right DC and let him find the right QB and we’ll get some wins against those types of teams.

Can’t say that see him making a playoff run unless the stars align, but assuming we’ll never beat any of those teams if he’s the coach is silly. Especially considering that up until a few months ago you were pumping sunshine for a vastly inferior coach who was able to beat UGA twice and UF once in spite of himself.

The planes in Tampa is a big deal. AV talking about it being a pivotal day. The players posting. All of that smoke. He may have turned us down, but I think its very possible he is in Knoxville right now.

Does anyone know if Atlanta Vol has posted anymore in the gruden thread? I really think he would tell us it’s a no go, if it is. His continued silence should speak volumes no matter what is being said.

Everyone thinks Hubbs is disconnected...he’s not. He has probably been told to play dumb to help simmer some of the smoke, but don’t come out and say it’s a no go. Until Hubbs says Gruden is not an option, then it will be Gruden at the podium until proven otherwise.

I’m telling y’all. No matter what we aren’t getting a coach til after Vandy. There was never a chance it was going to get announced this week. Especially right before a game.

This Gruden stuff could easily be misdirection. Cause that’s exactly what they would do even if he signed on the dotted line yesterday, a week ago or tomorrow.

We are not gonna let it out that we have a coach until after the season is over. No matter what.

That’s basically how I feel about him (though I’m not sure I’d put Taggart ahead of Mullen yet, since he hasn’t done anything of note as a P5 coach yet).


I’m just not convinced any of those guys besides maybe Frost are realistic or have any reason to jump here from their current jobs. And apparently Frost is destined for Nebraska, sadly.


Either way, we’re gonna have an upgrade at HC.

I'm not convinced that Hubbs knows any more than we do about this search.

I think he’s playing dumb, because he has been asked to play dumb. Currie and others know the fanbase listens to what he says, and when he says something is definitive, then it’s a done deal. By playing dumb and showing up at the airport, he looks clueless and like he doesn’t know what’s happening this go round, when he actually does.

Has anyone ever thought that Hubbs is LWS’ source? Wasn’t LWS in the media industry, too?
