Patterson and Frost over Mullen. I know frost isn’t as proven as Mullen but Mullen doesn’t excite me i think he’s better than Butch but he has some blemishes too.

So … without question, the story of the week has been Jon Gruden and there have been all kind of unconfirmed rumors. Rumors from Tennessee offering him the position to rumors he's turned down the position to rumors he has no interest in the position. But Gruden's camp hasn't confirmed or denied anything, and we don't expect them to do so. And Currie isn't doing any talking. In fact, Currie seems to have been working by himself most of the week. His executive staff has been in Knoxville, and on Thursday, most people who are considered decision makers such as key contributors were in their offices or at their homes.

So does Gruden want the Tennessee job? Many we have spoken with say that he prefers the NFL to a college job. Others say don't rule anything out. At this point, how can you with neither Gruden nor Tennessee saying anything to slow down the rumor mill. One other unconfirmed rumor is that Gruden's wife was in Knoxville on Monday. It's no secret that they are looking for a home in the Knoxville area.

So what's the resolution the the Gruden rumors? There doesn't appear to be one unless Gruden takes this job or a hire is made

Thursday – Despite rumors, we aren't sure he took any Wheel's Up flights, as Currie nor Tennessee is a client of Wheel's Up. Could he have gotten a Wheel's Up client to get him a fight? Perhaps, but seems doubtful with the access he has to planes in partnerships with donors at Tennessee.

Friday – We expect Currie to be back in town at some point for various campus activities, including the social time with the 1997 team on Friday evening
-Hubbs (War Room)

He also said they don’t know where Currie was Wednesday night.

Just go to bed. I don't believe he turned anything down. It was reaching a fever pitch that could sustain. This is not unusual for "leaks" to come out to control the situation.

If Petersen would legit come south, I think he would be my first choice , even over Gruden.

He's proven in coaching college ball. He's proven he can win , and do it long term, and at both mid-level and big boy level.

I don't think I see him leaving the northwest. But if he would, I say go all in

Just hoping that Trey and the others who are hearing that he said no isn't true and they're trying to keep it a secret.

With you Ron. Holding out hope!

If we do not get Gruden I would be all for throwing him the Gruden money. We need a winner. I am not sold on Mullen

You know a couple thing I always revert back to with the Gruden higher.
1) He works for ESPN if there was any information they would be the first ones probably releasing/leaking. Not necessarily the Network but there is a lot of support staff for MNF and I am sure they know about the Grumors.
2) the last MNF game isn’t until 25 December. Does he leave MNF if he were hired here or finish out with his MNF commentary?

Just my 2 thoughts on the subject.

If Gruden turned down 10 million a year like some of the reports said, we did everything we could and he just did not want to coach in college

So, Hubbs spoke as he typically does and said nothing of any substance.

Sounds to me like he has just as much info as any of right now lol. I’m only holding on to hope because UT and Gruden could squash all this right now and they haven’t.

Complete and total speculation but I feel like Currie tried everything in his power and threw a suitcase filled with money at him, some people/former players got word of it and assumed the offer was too good to refuse. Gruden got cold feet and turned it down and here we are.

OR it's yet another smokescreen but I'm starting to think it's over.

At this point if it ends up being Mehlan or some other Meh guy...I'm going to puke. I 've pretty much convinced myself it will be an extended exercise in justifiable mediocrity...but hey we will probably always beat candy...yay!🤢

After Gruden it was Mullen in the War Room. Hubbs then mentioned Norvell and Morris. He said there is likely to be another P5 coach, but they can’t confirm one at this time.

Very little mention of Taggart, and he said Patterson has not shown interest.

The census is Frost to Nebraska.

Kelly and UF rumblings hearing back up according to Hubbs.
