Norvell or Fleck and it might be the hire that does me in. These guys are carbon copies of Butch Jones.

In 2009, I spent the whole search saying surely they won't go with that Dooley guy. I feel the same way about these two, hopefully it doesn't happen again.

Is Norvell really corny like Butch?


I haven’t seen too much of him in interviews or whatever, but he seemed more down to earth in what I have seen.

Fleck is up there with Butch though.

Agreed. His posts I pay a lot of attention to. LWS gets a bad rap, I think, because he won't put something out there unless he's absolutely certain it's correct. I suspect he's "Fulmer-fed", and it makes sense that he/they would downplay the early rumors about Gruden, especially if negotiations were still ongoing, and/or Currie and the powers that be wanted things kept under wraps. Just my opinion. I don't cut multi-million dollar deals, so take it for what it's worth.

What I do believe is this: Apparently they (Major boosters, Currie, Fulmer, Manning, et al) are swinging for the fences on this one. I think Gruden is/was a top target, and I also think they're smart enough to have a Plan B, C, and maybe D. I believe they'll get it right this time, so I'm just gonna sit back...enjoy the show...and see who it is.

To be fair that's part of Gruden's appeal. It's his star power that would attract a lot of great HS players.
