So now if we assume the Brice/Ramey news is in fact true and UT made their pitch last night then that means Gruden heard our pitch and then woke up in the morning and did this interview dropping UT references and going out of his way to bring up the Vols.

What does it mean?!?!?

To me it means he's coming here or he's trolling. I don't think he's trolling. Did you see where a poster on TOS said Tennessee reps were with him when he did the interview and dared him to mention Rocky Top?

I’m happy you guys feel hope still. I am just way too up and down. At times a feel it’s logical. Other times I’m embarrassed I’m falling for this crap again.

Haha coaching searches always provide hope. Heck I even shortly jumped into the Dooley and Jones camps thinking just maybe.

I'm beginning to lose hope....to much happening soon quotes out there from "sources" and they change every day..

I’m more optimistic than yesterday. Brice/Ramey’s report + Hubbs showing up to the airport are reasons for hope. Still think it’s a likely scenario that Gruden says no, Mullen says no and we land on Norvell, though. Norvell might be a good hire, but he will have to prove it — and people won’t like that.

Whoever it is, I hope people give him a real chance.

I don’t have a dog in this fight, but you’re kidding yourself if you don’t think it’s hard to keep good assistants (especially somewhere like MSU).

All you have to do is look at Geoff Collins to see that. Dude was killing it at MSU, but UF offered more money and access to better resources/athletes to work with. Now he’s the HC at Temple.


It’s just how the game works. If an assistant is good enough, big fish will offer them more money for the same job and smaller schools will chomp at the bit to get them as a HC.

All he's saying is that Gruden wouldn't accept a UT offer. It's a kind of bias.

My opinion.

He's pulling a major,colossal, nationwide troll job on a place he holds dear,that also surrounds his in-laws or it's a good possibility that he signed.

Side note. It's not impossible that Currie and the UT contingent that made the trip was in the same room with Gruden when he was on the air.

And don't forget his son goes to UT, which would make it very uncomfortable. Just say NO, I'm not interested and move on--why would they be dragging it out so much? That's what I keep going back too.

How would anyone know that?

I could see it being true but I doubt a FF poster would know it happened as we sit here today.

If he says no the son is in trouble around campus. He would catch hell.

Why would it be uncomfortable? Coaches' sons were all around during the Jones tenure. even fired coaches sons. And JG's son doesn't seem to be involved in football.
