Many say that the photo isn't Currie, but I'm an Intel guy and I took some time to analyze the photo. It's definitely him. Down to the glasses. My only concern is when was the picture ACTUALLY taken. Is the source reliable and that it was in fact today. If that was taken today, then Currie was/is on a plane cause that's him.

Have you been to Wooden Robot yet? Really solid beers and maybe best in Charlotte IMO. Also, if anybody is flying through clt airport, I'll buy you a Hop Drop. In the airport weekly; hence, username.

No. A co-worker has been and said it was great. He was almost more impressed with the food than the beer. It's on my list though. There are so many dang micros opening up around here now, i just can't keep up. Plus, I live in Union County and spend a lot of time at Treehouse Vineyards and Dreamchasers in Waxhaw.

I kept JJ from beating up my roommate one night on Presidential Plaza. My roomie may have been "overserved" and not known who he was mouthing off to. Luckily I knew JJ through some guys I worked out with.

Good times.

I never met any of the player's while I was at UT. Guess I had my nose in a textbook most of the time? I had been out of school 4 years, but I did meet Darwin Walker. He was taking the Fundementals of Engineering exam the same day I was taking the Professional Engineering exam.

Haha you guys are funny.

I still don’t think it’s happening and won’t believe it until he takes the podium.

If you look at my post history you’ll see that I was full on Grude for a while but this has become too much like 2012 and I flipped.

I reserve the right to flip again if info changes. UT has burned us twice and there is a strong possibility they do so again.

Also, I started questioning as to why he would take the job? To what end does it actually benefit him? It’s not about money because he has plenty, and if he needs more he can go to the NFL where pressure isn’t as high and you can make the playoffs with 8 losses.

Between this thread and the expectations of UT fans I don’t see why he would want to take this on. The expectations for him would be insurmountable and anything less than a national championship will be seen as failure.

Apart from money (if you already don’t have it) I don’t see why anyone would want to coach big time college football. Nick Saban has broken college football and changed what qualifies a program as successful. No one is happy with 10-2/9-3 seasons anymore. You have to compete for championships every year and if you slip up the fans eat you alive.

Look at PSU, AU, OU, OSU, etc. they have all had success and fans still at times (some more than others) have called for their coaches heads. Auburn fans still want Gus gone and he just drubbed the #1 team in the nation. There was article after that game showing where some UGA fans were questioning Kirby. Heck, just a few years ago Bama fans were talking about the game passing Saban by and making a change.

You can argue that they want to do it because it’s in their nature but no one wants that stress and it’s beats you down over time. Saban put Urban into a brief retirement, and Bob Stoops just left last year. So even the best have a breaking point.

Gruden has had it so easy for so long, just don’t see why he steps back into the gauntlet, especially college football where you can’t afford to drop 2 games a year.

Don’t know if this guy is right or not...

Another question. Why would Currie be going to Charlotte if Gruden was supposedly here last night and also was supposedly flying to Tampa yesterday morning.

For all his faults, you can't put the Peterman thing on Butch. There were other issues at play when he left and Peterman himself says that he was "immature and had some growing to do". His leaving was not all about football.

And Peterman got his degree from UT before transferring...

You know who is bigger and better and more talked about than Saban??? The guy that beats Saban and sends him to retirement.

Not necessarily!! With Tennessee's luck going back to the Dooley LSU game and his Music City Bowl endings, it would be UT's luck for Gruden to accept the job and then change his mind the day after the press conference (ala Bobby Cremins)

Man, don't throw that voodoo down in here
