Official Jon Gruden Thread 34

After what Jon Gruden stated this morning, a lot of things I was thinking was confirmed. First, all of these alleged people "in the know" are nothing but frauds who got a lot of people wanting Gruden all hyped up. In other words, a lot of people have been played here. I think it is funny how gullible so many people are!

To be clear, I am not opposed to Gruden being the head coach as long as he proves to be a WINNER! No sure bets on anybody but the responsibility for this hire rests on Currie ultimately. I believe this is probably the most important hire in the HISTORY of Tennessee football. We are at a crossroads.

I also think paying someone 10 million a year is ridiculous! No person who works for the public should be paid 10 million a year. However, this is the state of college football today.

Bottom line, I expect Currie to hire a WINNER and nobody will know if he makes the right decision or not for another three years. I know a lot of posters on her are frauds. I also know there are a lot of gullible people on Volnation. Finally, I think the "business of college football" has gotten out of hand and the public needs to step up!

Thank you for your condescending, worthless opinion.

This is the one!

First, Gruden couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag. Secondly, he is gutless and couldn't handle the job. Thirdly, for all you Gruden fans get over it, he's not coming. Period. I have a personal therapist that could help you folks to accept reality.

Just a random thought. I understand his contract with ESPN is open ended and not guaranteed because he said this in an interview with Denver TV reporter. But how does one take care of his other commitments re endorsements? I know we can find money to compensate but how will the companies be made whole for potential loss? I think this is where a lot of the lawyers are billing hours on right now

Hargis - "Needless to say, the national coaching site reports were nothing more than click bait. Anyone who thinks Gruden isn't a viable option for UT has no clue what they're talking about and obviously hasn't spoken with anyone who actually does know anything."

Twitter

Hargis going to get his vindication and deservingly so. For him to write anything about the search this time around speaks VOLUMES

Jon Gruden discusses speculation on possible return to coaching

I would like to see one shred of evidence that JG was on campus yesterday or hear from ANY reputable media person that backs up the "claims" of so called internet media board experts.

When I first read his comments it sounded like he was dancing, which I think bodes well for the Vols. But when I heard the video, his initial response, particularly the way he says "you know Mike, I haven't talked to anybody" seemed frustrated. Now I don't know exactly why he might be a bit frustrated, maybe tired of being asked.

However, the rest of his response was not a denial. He did comment that he was trying to "hang on to the job I have" but said "you never say never" which he says alot.

I'll say this, if he hasn't actually spoken with anybody, heads need to keep rolling in the ad. That's so unacceptable that I find it hard to believe at this point.

Heather said Gruden said No one has contacted him . if i heard right he said he really hasn't talked to anyone from UT.

Let's use some common sense... People really think there has been no contact because Gruden didn't want to let the cat out of the bag on a radio talk show? People actually believe that UT has not at least contacted Gruden just to gauge his interest? Yeah, that makes perfect sense!

88-89, 90

Morrill Hall, 84-86. 9th floor. Right above the boys, ha.

The vent in our room came loose one day and while we were trying to fix it, it came off. That's when we noticed we could see the boys' shower below. They had their ceiling panel removed for some reason. We actually saw a few showers, haha. Good times!

I don't understand Vols' fascination with who Florida hires.

Florida has a bad coach - they beat us every year
Florida has a good coach - they beat us every year

Florida has less talent - they beat us
Florida has more talent - they whip us

see the theme here?

THEn i guess we hire Bobo since it doesent mean shat

Was ready to commit to it, one way or the other. Believing or not has no direct effect on my life. Believing feels better.

Worst case scenario in believing and it not happening is a few asshats rubbing it in. Lulz, I can handle it. :)

Kinda like the LAST 5 SEASONS. Amirite? :wink2:

I don't always like Clay Travis, but this is by far the best explanation to why Gruden would take the job that doesn't include the "he started at UT, met his wife, etc."

Twitter

There is a little language mainly the word d*ck. Enjoy

Did any one see Trey Wallaces tweet about Breaking News? It was on my notifications but he has erased it. All I got was, Gruden had contacted ..... Something NCAA.

Hargis went all in last time and was crucified. The fact that he’s risking it to do it again is pretty telling. He knows what’s up
