Virtually nothing has come out of the AD. It's been locked down. Other than a few trolls and talk of changing plans due to meetings, there's been absolute silence. All the noise is from outside. That's a fact.
Out of curiosity what are your predictions for the following seasons if Gruden does become the next HC given the talent level and state of our football program right now? What would be your prediction for recruiting classes in those same years.
I'll give first
2018: 7-6 to 9-3 holds together a top 15 class
2019: 8-4 to 10-2 and top 5 class
2020 9-3 to sky is the limit with another top 5 class
Just gauging what the expectations are from the fan base if he is hired. Also curious what your reaction would be if we were to go 8-4 or 7-5 in those three seasons.
I have always maintained I would love to have Gruden on the hill but also realize no one has a magic wand to fix all the problems in our program. As much as I would love to see him I do not view it as the end of the world if it doesn't happen there are several names I would be ALMOST as happy with.
After what Jon Gruden stated this morning, a lot of things I was thinking was confirmed. First, all of these alleged people "in the know" are nothing but frauds who got a lot of people wanting Gruden all hyped up. In other words, a lot of people have been played here. I think it is funny how gullible so many people are!
To be clear, I am not opposed to Gruden being the head coach as long as he proves to be a WINNER! No sure bets on anybody but the responsibility for this hire rests on Currie ultimately. I believe this is probably the most important hire in the HISTORY of Tennessee football. We are at a crossroads.
I also think paying someone 10 million a year is ridiculous! No person who works for the public should be paid 10 million a year. However, this is the state of college football today.
Bottom line, I expect Currie to hire a WINNER and nobody will know if he makes the right decision or not for another three years. I know a lot of posters on her are frauds. I also know there are a lot of gullible people on Volnation. Finally, I think the "business of college football" has gotten out of hand and the public needs to step up!
