I'm 50/50 and cautiously optimistic but let's be real, we need it to be Gruden. If it isn't, and Florida does get Kelly we may very well slip into the abyss of permanent mediocrity. At least we will have the largest stadium full of apathetic fans in the country!


The academic, athletic and research package has to be true, we can't afford for it not to be. Gruden, at this point you are the last hope for Tennessee football. Anything less than Gruden or Kelly and we do this again in 5 years, rinse repeat.

So I take that as a yes, if we don't get Gruden, then we will of necessity have to hire another coach in five years.

I want to work for your company if these sized deals get hashed that quickly and efficiently.

Pretending a $10mil/yr deal is small change for any organization is a joke.

Again, you are too caught up in the dollars.

Some smaller deals are more complicated and usually related to a variety of unknowns in due diligence. Practically all of the due diligence in this case has to do with qualifications and belief in a plan going forward.

It is an employment contract that is more complicated than mine or, probably, yours but it is not a complicated business deal.

That's what the story is based upon, no direct information, just whispers among those who do not want to see Gruden at Tennessee because it would be their worst nightmare.
