But the same thing that causes him to be a hit on MNF, grudens QB camps, etc, makes him a winner.

Can he get you to the league? Check
Is he charismatic? Check
Does playing under his system make you a better player? Check

Are recruits going to say “well, he’s never been a HC at the college level.. I might not be a success.”

If so, I don’t want that kid.

There is a contradiction in the Butch is a tyrant narrative that befuddles me...If Butch was a such a harda$$, then why the going soft on S&C? That makes no sense to me. Usually those types of coaches work the players to death.

I think that’s more of a support system function than HC function.

Because like everything else, it wasn’t real. People knew it. When he’s not there, he doesn’t get respect. Personalities like that prey on weak and impressionable minds, not everyone as a whole. Love that Lane said something about butch being upset with his off the field choices. Said he never failed a drug test... not that he didn’t do drugs. Also made no mention of the sexual assault case.

Lane couldn’t make it in the NFL. There were DTs with more speed than him

Top 10 I agree.

Although top 10 isn’t anything special at Tennessee. Should be expected, especially when we start to win meaningful ball games.
