Would he tell Saban that in order to be the man he has to beat the man?

I'm telling you, these Flair jokes are funny, but to me, they are what I want in a coach.

Not an over the top personality. But a guy who isn't afraid of Saban. I've seen a few of you guys write on here that oh, coaches will be hesitant to come here because they're afraid of big bad saban and Alabama cause they'd have to play them twice a year.

Screw that. If Currie calls a guy and he shows any hesitancy about having to play Saban, then hang up the phone immediately. I don't want that guy here I don't care who he is.

I want the guy who sees that we play Saban twice and year and says "Good! Bring it on!" I want a guy who believes he's the best dang coach in football and he wants to prove it. I want the guy that says "I want to be the man! And to be the man, you have to beat the man!"

I want that guy. You think Gruden is afraid of Saban? I don't. I don't think Mike Gundy is either. I think there are coaches who believe that they are the best and they want to prove it. I want the guy who believes that in just a few years Bama fans will be crying that they have to play TN every year. Bring me that guy!

Exactly.

It sounds like he wans to be here, just based on what I have read.

Let me just state my stance once again: What Kiffin did at USC was just short of a miracle. They had major scholarship restrictions, and weren't allowed to go to a bowl game...Yet, they were pulling in 5 tar recruits like nobody's business. Incredible! How they were able to compete for 60 minutes with other GOOD teams over the course of a season, is simply amazing.

And the thing with contacting recruits, that was on Ogre, not Kiffin, as far as I know.

Having said all that, I personally have decided that there would still be way too much bad blood with many fans, to make it worth the risk...

Maybe our next hire, in 5 - 15 years, maybe after his personality mellows a bit more...Who knows?

Thanks for stopping by Lane.

None of this crap is good for UT football. Digging up bones only hurts us.

I wish CBJ well and hope he lands a job somewhere else to save us millions that can be spent on the next staff.

Makes me think we may see a different team these last 2 weeks.

I've been wondering that too. Hopefully a big weight is off these players to not feel like they have to save Butch's job or whatever. That has to be a lot of pressure.

Still don't have many linemen tho

Hank was practice fun today? Get the feeling Hoke is gonna make football fun for them these last two weeks.

Be nice to give old Ogre a big shlt burger this weekend.
