I am not a lawyer and I don't know how the legal HR hurdle would be accomplished, but perhaps espn agreed to let Gruden out of a contract without penalty or perhaps there was some creative financing going on. Again, this would be peanuts compared to the size of this merger, but I think there is or was some incentive as a result of this that all parties (Grude, UT, dish, espn) found enticing.
if i was jon gruden i would totally make an account here and make my username iamjongruden and then i would be like man, you guys need to calm down, i took the job, see you next week and then sit back and watch everyone call me a troll.
Then id be like ok fine, im eating a sandwich right now. Then take a picture of myself eating a sandwich, post it, then let the s***storm ensue. Half yall would call me a troll still and id just sit there and laugh...then never post again bc i was too busy making ut football great again.

In business, the circumstances are an attempt at testing the market for a potential (hostile) takeover of a business. In each case, there is the clear understanding that the anonymous party, whether a company or an individual, has a valuable reputation that could be damaged by the failure. The stalking horse is an exercise in assessing accurately the degree of risk, so that a full-blooded challenge is only mounted by the main party when there is a real likelihood of success.
Instead of the Stalking Horse being about Dish business decisions, could it be nothing more than Beav throwing out words that deals with the takeover of the Haslam booster team vs whatever We call MIT_Beavers booster team !
Stalking horse usage
Hey guys, I sincerely apologize for making it seem like Ron posted that we had Gruden 100%. Everyone was joking about Rons posts, and I messed with one.I did not think people would take it seriously.
Ive stated several times in this thread that Ron is a great guy, but he just passes along information. I thought the post was satirical enough to where no one would take it seriously
