Fellow Grudenites, I spent the weekend in Charleston but have been trying to keep up on the thread. The excitement on here is contagious. I’ve gone from holding steady at 95% to 98%! You don't have to worry. The only reason The Grud would come here is if he was in a no-lose situation. That means you would have to give him all the moneys and all the power. It's the equivalent of walking into vegas and betting the farm on a horse. It's the biggest gamble in sports history by a conservative and smart AD. It won't happen ever.

Alabama made that kind of gamble. Look how that worked out.

None of these guys know anything. Currie is keeping it very close to his chest whether it be Gruden or someone else. I would put more in what Swain says though than Pat Forde. At least Swayne is in Knoxville lol. SDS just reported that Gruden is allegedly contacting other coaches gauging interest in being on his staff. Could just be them latching on to Swain's tweet though.

At some point even the staunchest Grudne deniers are going to have to realize that the interest is very real. I am not saying Gruden is coming to Tennessee is a given, but it is impossible to deny about the interest level.

I don't doubt there could be some interest and some ego stroking on his part.

If he is the next HC, it will be good for the program.

He does not, all is not lost.

I just don't think it is going to happen.

I think we're all getting tired of that smug media reaction to even mentioning Gruden. It's a real thing. Honestly, if it were a big joke I'd expect Jon to go ahead and publically say it isn't happening so we could mentally move forward instead of poisoning the well for whoever does come, but he hasn't done that.

It's exactly why most of them are FOS. They can "joke" about it but if it really happens they will be the first ones to take credit for believing in it. If it doesn't then they just keep poking fun.
