We will be in good shape with JG, McBride, and Martinez. With a good coach. Good stable of RBs. Get the O line and Lbs healthy. Not a rebuild.

If that's true that Currie won't be doing any interviews until later in the week it makes me think he almost has to already have somebody in the bag, or close to it. I'd say that's a good thing.

I would say we're paying too much attention to this part of it.

Normally how these things work is Currie will find a big city with a large airport and a conference room in the airport. They will conduct multiple interviews out of that space.

The only reason he's waiting until later in the week is because it takes some time to get all of that scheduled with, say, 5 coaches/coaches representatives. I've heard he's already done some of this in Cincinnati. Which means he won't do the next round there. Probably Charlotte or Atlanta.

Think there was an article posted here about Athletic Departments used to be run by old football coaches and now it’s a CEO type.

Really hope the fact that we have Fulmer and hopefully Peyton around is an indication that Currie is going to vet whoever it is through those two guys.

Barry Alvarez always had a good coach at Wisconsin. Mike Bellotti was the AD that picked out Chip Kelly. It just seems like it helps to have an experienced coach hiring your next coach.

Cannot help but think that Fulmer and Manning, had they been integral components in 2012, could have sat down with Jones and realized that he didn’t have the gameday chops for this job. Maybe that’s crazy but hose two guys have like a combine 100 years of football experience, they have to have had coaches who didn’t know wtf they were doing and be able to recognize somebody who is faking it.

This is a good interview from Bruce Feldman concerning all our top favorites, and since I'm a Matt Campbell fan, this had me interested:

Replacing Butch Jones: Tennessee'''s head coach candidates | SI.com

Matt Campbell is one of the guys who will be competing with Frost for national coach of the year honors. He did a terrific job at Toledo and he’s doing an even better one at Iowa State, where he has led the Cyclones to two wins over Top Five opponents this year. Vols AD John Currie also knows the Ohio native from his days in the Big 12 at Kansas State. The downside: Campbell has a hefty buyout that’s said to be close to $9 million.

Just catching up here:

The Vols are either hiring Gruden, Frost, Mike Tomlin, John Harbaugh, Doug Marrone, Dan Mullen, or Mack Brown.

Right?

I'm here for the party boys, the reign of terror is over, hope springs eternal, the sun is shining on rocky top once Again! Now let's see how we eff this up again.

You know who has a very small buyout? Dan Mullen.

I’m checking out for a long time if we hire him or Brohm. Can’t get myself excited about another Butch Jones.

We need to be hiring taggart or Fuente and not the guys who feasted off what they built. That’s how we got butch instead of Brian Kelly.

I would take Campbell before Brohm that is for sure.

Alright. Can we get freak to code things up so any time someone posts something with Basilio in it, it just comes out as *******?

“Basilio said fulmer is in the running for the coaching position”

“******* **** ****** ** ** *** ******** *** *** ********* ********.”

Thanks.

John Kelly liked the tweet from Lane Kiffin about getting Butchs picture off the Jumbotron and getting Fulmer up there.

Edit* he didn’t retweet it, he liked it.

Alright we’ll take him and give them Butch plus a million.

Bottom line is that UCF is 9-0 and they dismantle pretty much everyone they play.

Stats are for losers. Watch a game and it's evident that this guy knows what he is doing.
