Yeah I agree, when I first saw this pop up, I thought it wasn't true. Then I saw it was the Orlando Sentinel reporting on a home town kid...gave it a little more credence in my mind. That being said, the reason I thought it was untrue is because that's just dirty...I'm sure there's a lot of wrangling going on when a coach is leaving for somewhere else, but it appears Butch doesn't have any clue where he's heading next. But wouldn't urging a recruit to look elsewhere be something that could get him in hot water concerning his buyout? I mean this seems completely verboten.

Is it possible that he was letting recruits know he'd been fired and without knowing anything about the next coaching staff, the recruits should look at other schools to make sure they have options and aren't left out in the cold?
