So this link is worth keeping around, not just for the next 45 minutes, but for the coming days and perhaps weeks:

A Letter from John Currie: Nov. 12, 2017 - University of Tennessee Athletics

Key elements:
-- We now turn our attention to an exhaustive search to identify a coach of the highest integrity and character with the skills and vision to return Tennessee football to championship form. Our commitment to doing what it takes to hire the absolute best coach for the University of Tennessee is resolute.

-- To protect the integrity of our process, following the press conference I will have no further public comments until such time we announce our new coach.

-- Unless you hear news directly from me, do not assume it to be accurate.

Interesting that he wants Volunteer Nation not to assume anything is accurate unless it comes from him, right after saying he won't say another word to us until it's time to announce the new coach. That's a pretty naive expectation, given his self-appointed embargo on official updates.

When is the last time that Atlanta Vol weighed in?

10 days ago and here is is last post:

Sorry to everyone for not being around much but there has been A LOT going on. This week has been an utter **** show....on so many levels.

Their has been hesitation internally to let butch go early due to the reputation that UT has gotten in that regard externally to the coaching community...however I think the hand may get forced on this one. And when I mean let go I mean publically let go....lets not mix that up. He is gone no doubt about that but the timing thing is really playing havoc on this whole process make no mistake about that.

I was delivered either an incredible smokescreen yesterday or something that tells me there is trouble in paradise on the gruden front (lets say it went along the lines of currie reached out to xyz coach to gauge interest what are your thoughts... I won't name the coach as I don't want to throw gas on that log) . I can't tell which yet but I have been on the phone all morning with one of the larger boosters (in ktown) discussing our wonderful browns owner who literally could screw up anything he gets involved in so that tells me all I need to know on that front. Now take all of that and couple it with the next important piece of info.

I was then informed early today of a meeting that will take place that I am supposed to attend (can't give timeline out) that will be about a very large donation opportunity for some folks in attendance. Now I can't imagine in my right mind that they would approach anyone about a meeting like that unless there was something extremely positive was going to happen.

I think the band is about the start playing...the biggest question will be is it who we want playing or not.

I know where you are coming from. You might very well be right. I think he will take a couple questions but probably pre screened softballs.

nah, they'll grill currie ... only butch got softballs.
i keed. i keed.

who knows.

i bet he don't wanna take no questions tho, cause you and me both know what questions people really wanna ask.

if any questions get asked, they will be staged better than wwe, you're right about that.

For the 56384937485th time, the Mullen thread is that way 👉.

It was a categorical no before yesterday. Just he showed how well he could rival Dooley and Jones with clock management and complacency.

Yeah he was trying to get it to ot, but his team lacked depth tired out, and he had Todd grantham as def. cord. I question his judgement after hiring him, he did hire another washed up def cor. Who left and went to Miami.where he’s doing pretty good. Name?
