I said that because the rumor was that Currie wanted to make a hire and fire in the same day/very close to each other. Probably was supposed to happen at the end of the season so Butch being fired probably threw a wrench into Currie's plans. We could definitely announce a new coach on the same day if that coach wasn't coaching at another school presently.

Why would Currie tell a booster That? Aren't the "big" boosters the ones pushing Gruden? Wouldn't be necessary for Currie to say that to someone who "should" already know.

I’m just curious what people think. Pointing to a very rare exception as a possibility is not a terribly smart way to govern expectations.

I know of people who have been struck by lightning, but that doesn’t keep me from going outside.
