Nathaniel Rutherford from Rocky Top Insider said John Currie called a major booster and said the hire would be "big, expensive and explosive."

The same Currie that basically said “unless it comes directly from me, believe nothing”?

I think we have good talent at the skill positions. We'll be hurting up front on both sides of the ball though IMO. We're physically weak compared to most teams in this league and don't have quality depth. That'll take at least two years to get ironed out IMO.

I think the biggest problem is the attitude of this team. I think if someone can come in and give these guys a wgwtfa attitude you will see a big difference. Trey smith has that. It's why he puts people on their Azz regularly. This is just my opinion though.

Want to explain, not being a di**k. Genuinely curious?

Basically because he's just weird man. If you don't have a homegrown tomato like a Majors or Fulmer, I'm of the opinion that you kind of need to be a fit here. I think Leach would just be a fish out of water in this part of the country. All just an opinion of course, but I do think it's an important thing to think about.

Major point of emphasis in the off season for any coach coming in is without a doubt, our O and D lines... they are pitiful. We have been constantly talking about how bad the O line is, but I simply could not stand watching a under-talented Mizz O line blowing holes ALL NIGHT up the middle for their RB to run free...
I know depth and injuries have been a major part of this, but give me a break. It has officially reached the level of us needing to go JUCO for several guys to come in and add depth and some fire.

We think Mizz's O line blew holes last night, just wait until LSU comes in-- they will blow holes a truck could drive through.
Maybe Hoke will finally sit Colton "WHIFF" Jumper ... that kid got man-handled all night... again.

This team is better than its record this year. It's not to far off base to believe they should've won 7 or 8 this year. 8 or 9 next year would not be incredible. We have talent on this roster when they aren't all injured.

We have one big time SEC OL/DL (Trey Smith)
Thin but talented at RB
Bad at CB (assuming we lose Gaulden)
Good at Safety
Solid at LB with DK and DB
Mediocre at WR
And who knows at QB.

This is what I’m curious about. I really think there are a big group of players who said they would not play for Butch anymore.

I agree. I don't want to get too ahead of myself, but I wouldn't be surprised to see the OL suddenly look healthier, and for us to be slightly competitive with LSU (at least early). I just think the team will play loose and have fun. We'll see.

My bad I read the post you quoted wrong, thought you were talking about Mullen. I agree on Leach, he’s definitely entertaining, just not a good fit here.

Feldman broke the firing, and he's a Sports Illustrated/Fox Sports guy.

Beaver said he didn’t know who would break the firing, but knew for sure that ESPN gets to break the hire. Makes sense a close friend of Butch got to break the firing.

Who knows what we have anywhere on this team after this coaching staff. All I know is we have some highly recruited players on both sides of the ball. No way they all suck. I respect your opinion but, I do not agree.
