Yea if Butch gets fired this week I will probably go and soak up Neyland just accepting we will lose but better days are ahead.

I can’t even believe we have to say “if.” We were humiliated by each of our rivals in various ways this year. Suffered the indignity of a loss to Kentucky. And now we’ve been completely dominated by Missouri.

And Vandy looms as the worst team in the SEC but nonetheless ready to shove that final stake into our hearts and seal our doom with our eighth loss.

And we say if Butch is fired? And Butch is trying to figure out if he wants to be here next year as though the choice is his?

This is madness!!

That means he’s 92.5% confident Gruden ain’t coming.

I will roll with Hyams. And I hope Mullen isn’t scared away by our performance last night against a team that was 1-4 in SEC play and had lost by 40+ to Auburn a few weeks ago.

Nah, 7.5% for Larry is about 85% for normal folk with real info.

Would you really want a coach that was scared?

Honest question. If a competent coach comes in and ramps up the strength and conditioning , does this team compete for the east next season? East is weak and UGA got exposed.

No. Strength and conditioning takes two off-seasons to fix. And that's assuming we make the right hire in that department.

This job ate up Fulmer in his latter years, chased off Kiffin, and completely devoured Dooley and Butch.

I’m becoming concerned no one will want to step into this carnage.

The Gruden ship has sailed IMO.

Be ready for some big time Grumors today telling everybody to pay attention to things tomorrow. These next 24-48 hours could be big they'll say. Some trusted poster on volquest will come out with the infamous "guys it's happening" post. Some other guy who knew Cindy back in high school will come out with a "soon...can't say anymore" post. Enough already.

I think so. Get guys healthy, in position, and develop them and you’ve got a pretty decent ceiling depending on how QB play works out.

Quit biting your fingernails buttercup, better days are ahead of us.

Soon.

Like clockwork. People just setting themselves up for disappointment.

Missed my prediction by 5 points with Mizzou scoring the extra. But we all know Mizzou could have scored 70 or so if their receivers could catch the ball. We scored all we were capable of scoring. So the program is back to Dools level. Congrats to UT and its boosters for deemphasizing football, intentionally or otherwise. Mission accomplished. Apathy has set in along with disbelief in UT ever doing anything right. I was like most on here, surfing better games and watching better teams.

Butch should have been fired, on the field, after the UGA debacle as some of us posted on here. OK - maybe in the locker room where the players could get the message first hand and up close and personal where they see the consequences of their lack of commitment and its results. Would have been a great lesson for the future champions of life.

Didn't matter who the interim would be other than Fulmer, if he had been willing. You cannot infuse pride and toughness into players using the same coaching leaders that have not infused it in the past. It would have taken a leader outside of the existing staff.

Assuming no Gruden, we need to be satisfied and support the head coach they hire if he is clearly competent for SEC football no matter who it is, realizing we have every right to be skeptical. Our first step as a program has to be to become respectable again, not winning a NC. There have been some really good names with good backgrounds posted on here. I hope the idiots in charge pick one, support him, and get out of the way.

LSU is probably going to pound us into submission and play action over the top. Depends on how bad Ogre hates UT as to the score. They have real men on the lines and a great RB. Vandy is worse than us, but will be more focused and want it more. I thought we had a good shot at 5 wins before the game yesterday. Coin toss now.

Now I need to get ready for church where I can go seek forgiveness for my nasty thoughts about the whole situation.

If that is the case, then like utvols88 said, the University just needs to kill the football program.

Very tough kid at least after one game.
JG had me believing he was tough after a few games but that is gone now. Not a good look last night for him hearing He could play if needed.

Dude not what they meant. JG couldn't play cuz he can't even drop back. Kid would play if they let him. McBride was fine. JG would have been seriously hurt if he played behind that OL as he couldn't escape

I don’t know that I believe that. But I think we should kill the annual rivalry with Bama if we aren’t planning to make a grand slam hire. We should angle for a cross over rivalry with Arkansas since we are the Arky of the east.
