When things slowed down last night right after thread 32 was born I went on to sleep. The game certainly wasn't worth watching. That's the first time I've done that.

DTO's info drop doesn't bother me for reasons many stated overnight:
-he wants to be top dog, and the glazers care more about futbol than football.
- Gruden has been flying around since the Georgia game assembling and interviewing assistants.
-to me there has been sufficient evidence that the Gruden family was moving to Knoxville with or without a coaching job. Staying in tampa doesn't make sense.
-DTO also came in a few weeks ago in the middle if a game to tell us the Gruden deal was dead.
-UTVolinExile has very good info about intentional leaks and outright lies from the AD.

I'm not saying DTO is lying to us. I'm saying he is being lied to. I'm still at 90%. I think, for good reason, Gruden wants this job as much as we all want him to have it. Almost every job in the NFL has been his for the asking for many years. Why would he suddenly take a job from someone who fired him? Makes no sense.

My fingers are crossed that Butch is gone today.

Trying not to knock DTO, but he popped in when we're all at our lowest to bring that awful news. Couldn't that have waited? Why drop it then? Because we just lost badly and **** is about to get real? It just really confused me. Oh well, I'm staying upbeat and hoping for the best. If this all turns out badly you probably won't see much of me on Volnation anymore.

That's what he did before as well. Wasn't it during the SC game? It's all running together now, but I also think that was when the Beav showed up. I remember us all discussing what chance there was that negotiations were going on immediately before or during a game. That's why I don't think that the info DTO is being fed is completely accurate. I think we've heard good news from enough other sources to discount DTO's info. OV was in here all smiles earlier. Those 2 things can't reconcile.

I believe that's correct. His timing seems very strange to me.
Also LWS raised from 5% to 7.5% last night due to SWAN MAN on TOS giving good vibes and a text he got. I don't think it's a done deal as some have stated, but I believe enough credible sources have said that he's our #1 target that we at least have a fighting chance at landing him.

Also, Beav showed up in XXI along with Bubba.

Grude morning Grudenville!

For the first time ever, I went to bed at halftime. I have no idea what happened in the second half and by the score, I don't want to. I take it we had bad news last night. DTO seems to bring the truth, or at least what he is told, so I'm not sure where I stand now. I still believe, because the alternative is too much to bear.

Butch needs to go. Sooner rather than later. Maybe Beav's soon-ami is coming!

Sounds to me like Ol Gruden is playing the old trick of "the other employer is offering me this to come work for them" bit. I don't blame him if that's true. Who knows he could have been flirting with us to get a big NFL deal.

So many mixed messages, who knows what to believe anymore. The one thing that I hold on to is my belief that Currie is not stupid, and the only reason he would not have fired Butch yet is that he already has his man. There’s no other logical reason that Butch hasn’t been fired yet. If that turns out to be false, I will have very little confidence in Currie ever again. But aside from Currie, other people that matter have been silent and seemingly absent...Fulmer and Peyton most notably.

My only question is why let this public bloodletting of our football program continue. He could easily fire the coach and say will finish out the year. The message would at least be that we won’t stand for this.
Our team looks more like a punching bag than an opponent at this point.

I'm taking all "insider" info with a grain of salt at this point. There's just been too much back and forth for me. It's done one day, hurdle the next. I think there's a lot of bad info floating around and a couple trolls looking for E cred too.

I’ll believe it when I see it. Just like gruden at the podium. I remain positively thinking it’ll happen but every weekend we are told he’s gonna be fired and it doesn’t happen makes me wonder if we are just being fed a bunch of garbage.

PLEASE let there be some positive news today
