We finally went after and got a name like everyone wanted and he turned out to be ish. I suppose there's a lesson there for the coaching search if CBJ ever actually gets fired.

That will be an indicator one way or the other. Just like the perception of the Clawfense, and then Clawson turns around and gets a HC job.

Agreed. If that rumored deal is true, he has no other reason to turn it down other than an NFL offer. And we don't have time to wait for that. It shouldn't take him this long to make up his mind.

Butch should've cashed out high with Dobbs last year, but I think the loss to Vandy screwed it up and he didn't get any decent offers.

Shoop is a bright mind but this D has been bad for two years straight. If I were a fan of another program and my school was looking at hiring him I'd be worried.

I don't know how we can say that.

How do we judge anyone coaching under Jones?

He controlled everything.
Micro managed everything.
All personnel moves.
All recruiting decisions.
Entire game plans.

These poor assistants should have their years under Lyle Jones expunged from their records.

I'm gonna ask this again, and I'm not just doing it to be an ass: would the program be healthier today if we fired Butch after the South Carolina game and went with an interim?

We would still probably be losing and still blaming Butch. The damage was done in the off-season with this team. Soft.

I don't even know what to say at this point. I feel like a damn fool to have bought in to the Gruden hype again. Looks like he was just enjoying the attention and being courted as some said. Feels like a real punch in the face honestly. Are Swan and others on TOS backtracking their previous statements? Because if Gruden really is going to meet with Tampa he isn't serious about UT period.
