That would make zero sense to have him potentially trying to get a job that is direct competition to his family ownership of the Brown's. The Haslams may be a lot of things, but they aren't stupid. They aren't going to let someone use their resources to potentially compete against them!

So in other words, any potential meeting with Tampa could be a cover if Butch is let go earlier than Currie had expected. If JG is 'entertaining' the Tampa position he's not as serious a candidate which causes the growing grumors to die down a bit, allowing the situation to unfold as intended.

Still think that's bad for recruiting, but I've always been in the 'right hire' mindset.

Is it possible that everything is being prepared behind the scenes for not only a Gruden announcement, when the day comes, but also a staff, or at least pieces of one, is announced on that day as well? It would reflect well on the AD and Gruden if he were to be able to hit the ground running immediately upon being hired. If we look like our ducks are in a row, then that would certainly look good to recruits and the fan base. Additionally, John Currie would look like a genius, which I hear he’s got a big ego so I’m sure he’s going to try to take the credit and glory for this as much as he can. All that to say, SOON.

This makes no sense, dude. You say you’re personal friends with Tee Martin and that you know he has been contacted by Gruden to possibly join the staff. That was your big inside info this week. Why not stick with that?

To me, you’re far more credible with that as your story than putting blind faith in Beaver who you don’t know, correct?

Stick with a story. It appears far more credible that way.

I have heard similar things, which is why I have been optimistic. I'm definitely not as connected as some. But, as I've stated for a while now, it's just been a matter of timing. I've said that and stand by that. The circle of "insiders" started out very small, and I give props to Currie for that. But over the past week it's grown, because of certain developments. Have I seen an MOU or an actual agreement? No. But I'm very confident this gets done.

So don't let a bad loss to Mizzou and 1 comment about how "some think he may be meeting with Tampa" derail your whole thought process here.

Between Mizzou curb stomping us and limited info coming out, there are a lot of anxious, angry, emotional posting going on.

Tbh it gets old. You have some "demanding " info from the guys that are supposed to know.

I'm still exactly where I've been for almost 2 weeks: 99% Gruden. 1% in case of heart attack or meteor strike.

DTO's comment about a "hurdle" hasn't changed my belief. As I just mentioned, I have reason to believe that some false info is coming out. Not saying DTO is getting bad info but what an interesting narrative it would make, if Gruden was courted at the last minute by the Bucs, everyone thought it was over, and then Currie swooped in to save the day.

Huh. Did someone predict that happening? Sounds like something I've heard in this thread before.

Lay off DTO. He's not here all day talking about his good buddies at the AD who are packing Butch's boxes, or the rest. He's paid his dues and earned his spot here.

You can GTFO.

This is what I said from the beginning and what I posted several times tonight that I HOPE we get Gruden but I DON'T KNOW and was called out several times for it

What I know is I have followed this thread since the start, I have seen some very reliable posters post. I formed my own opinion of what i believe. If it it does happen, great. If not then im not going to be pissed off at DTO, Boro or any of the others. I do not hinge my every thought on everything they say. Definitely a ton of Gruden smoke out there. Not just here.
